  • Publication number: 20220192581
Abstract: A system for monitoring and responding to a cerebrovascular accident includes a computer, including a computer processor and a computer transceiver, a storage that stores personal medical information and a risk level, and a portable device attached to a user. When the computer transceiver receives personal medical information of the user, the computer processor calculates the risk level of a cerebrovascular accident based on the personal medical information. When the computer transceiver receives acceleration information, the computer processor determines whether to contact a predetermined contact based on the risk level and the personal medical information. The portable device includes an acceleration sensor, a position receiver, a clock, a portable transceiver, and a portable processor.

  • Patent number: 6960186
Abstract: The present invention is a balloon catheter used primarily in treatment and surgery for the purpose of dilating lesion sites such as strictures or blockages in passages in the human body. The balloon catheter of the present invention has a structure wherein a guide wire passing tubular member is deployed passing through the interior of the expansion body, and the outer surface of the tubular member and the expansion body are concentrically fused near the distal end of the catheter. This is a balloon catheter that is characterized by the fact that the Shore hardness of the material configuring the outermost surface of the tubular member is smaller than the Shore hardness of the material configuring the expansion body. It is therefore possible to flexibly adjust the tip portion formed by securing the expansion body and the guide wire passing tubular member.

  • Patent number: 6939518
Abstract: A purifier to purify exhaust gas includes a case, a plurality of metal sheets disposed in the case, a catalyst held to each of the metal sheets, partition plates disposed between the respective metal sheets, a metallic pipe disposed piercing through the metal sheets, and a catalyst heater disposed in the metallic pipe. The plurality of metal sheets are arranged at predetermined intervals, and each of the metal sheets has at least one through-hole. The partition plates serve to partition the spaces between the respective metal sheets. The exhaust gas is circulated through the spaces between the respective metal sheets and then passes through the through-holes and is exhausted from the outlet of the case. In this way, it is possible to increase the number of metal sheets without increase of the pressure loss and to enlarge the outer diameter of same. As a result, the exhaust gas purifying capacity will be improved.

  • Publication number: 20040102834
Abstract: The present invention provides a stent which is flexible in the axial direction prior to the expansion of the stent, which shows no contraction in the axial length of the stent during expansion of the stent, which has an extremely large resistance to forces exerted by contracting blood vessels after expansion, which can cause uniform expansion of the struts of the stent, and in which there is no problem of the end portions of the stent warping to a greater diameter than the central portion of the stent at the time of expansion, furthermore a stent in which the size of the basic cells that constitute the stent is reduced so that bulging of endothelial cells of vascular tissues into the inside of the stent is suppressed, furthermore a stent which allows Y stenting into branched blood vessels while maintaining a high radial force and superior scaffold properties.

  • Patent number: 6711692
Abstract: A data processing unit includes a first power supply consisting of a stable power supply, a central unit operating on the firsts power supply, a second power supply, a peripheral unit operating on the second power supply, an interface block for transferring an external signal to the peripheral unit, and a power-down detector operating on the first power supply and connected to the second power supply, for detecting a power down of the second power supply and for generating a signal informing of the power down when it occurs. This power down signal can prevent supply of the external input signal to the central unit. The data processing unit solves problems of conventional data processing units including separate central unit and peripheral power supplies in that an unexpected power down of the peripheral use power supply can cause malfunctions of the central unit because of, e.g., an undesired interrupt signal.
