Publication number: 20030204279Abstract: A shape data creating apparatus for creating shape data by utilizing a database has an operation measures database. The operation measures database stores attributes of working accuracy, reliability and working cost in a unit of operation of working or assembling. A shape operation measures selecting unit selects a measure used for practical work from a plurality of measure possibly used for working and assembling. A totaling unit calculates workability, assembling efficiency and cost of a shape when working measure and assembling measure selected by consulting attributes stored in the operation measures database are used. A process database stores operation processes of working and assembling. Addition, deletion and order change in an operation process are processed by a shape operation process editing unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2003Publication date: October 30, 2003Inventors: Takashi Yokohari, Ichiro Nishigaki, Hiromitsu Tokisue

Patent number: 6633455Abstract: A head element is made into contact with the surface of a recording medium so as to realize a float-up degree of 5 nm. Accordingly, a slider incorporating the head element for recording and reproducing data to and from the recording medium is provided thereon with a plurality of pads having step parts, and one of the plurality of pads, on which the head element is mounted, has a height which is less than that of the other pads. Thus, the pads other than the pad on which the head element is mounted are floated up while the pad on which the head element is mounted is stably made into contact with the surface of the recoding medium by means of a meniscus suction force and a damping action of lubricant applied on the surface of the recording medium.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2001Date of Patent: October 14, 2003Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Hiromitsu Tokisue, Hiroshi Tani, Mikio Tokuyama, Junguo Xu, Ryuji Tsuchiyama

Patent number: 6493188Abstract: A decrease in the lift-up degree of the outflow end of a slider at an altitude of 3,000 m is set to be less than 2 nm or to be zero in order to set the lift-up degree of the outflow end to be less than 10 nm. There is provided a magnetic disc apparatus in which the action point of positive pressure is shifted toward the inflow end but the action point of negative pressure is shifted toward the outflow end so as to enhance the influence upon the outflow end by the negative pressure in order to effect an action in the increasing direction of the lift-up degree of the outflow end when the pressure is reduced. Further, it is possible to increase the lift-up degree of the outflow end when the pressure is decreased. The action point of the equivalent load is offset from the action point of positive pressure toward the inflow end, and the distance between the action point of the positive pressure and the action point of the equivalent load point is set to be greater than 0.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2000Date of Patent: December 10, 2002Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Hiromitsu Tokisue, Ryuji Tsuchiyama, Masaaki Matsumoto, Yoshihiko Miyake, Kiyoshi Hashimoto

Patent number: 6414821Abstract: When a negative pressure slider is used in the magnetic head support mechanism with a loading/unloading function, the gimbals is likely to be deformed or damaged. Apart from the first tab provided to the front end of the suspension, the second tab is provided to the front end of the gimbals. In addition to the Suspension supporting ramp, the ramp portion has the second ramp for supporting the gimbals. This arrangement allows the slider mounting gimbals, in addition to the suspension, to be loaded/unloaded. Unlike the conventional drive in which only the suspension is loaded/unloaded, this arrangement enables the gimbals to be loaded/unloaded while maintaining a predetermined space between the gimbals and the suspension, thus reducing the risk of gimbals deformation and damage.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2000Date of Patent: July 2, 2002Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Mikio Tokuyama, Yukio Kato, Hiromitsu Tokisue, Junichi Matsuno

Patent number: 6373661Abstract: A magnetic disk device and a flying slider, having a magnetic head for reading and writing information, are disclosed. The magnetic head slider includes flying pads of a stepped configuration for flying the slider, and each of the flying pads has a flat surface portion and a step surface recessed from this flat surface portion through a microscopic step. Microscopic projections are formed on the step surface. The height of the microscopic projections are higher than or substantially equal to the height of the step. With this construction, the slider is less liable to be turned to lean forward because of the provision of the microscopic projections, and beside a front edge of the step surface will not damage a magnetic disk surface. A variation of the flying height can be reduced by a negative pressure produced at the rear side of each microscopic projection. Therefore, there can be provided the magnetic disk device having high reliability and a large capacity.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1999Date of Patent: April 16, 2002Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Mikio Tokuyama, Mieko Ishii, Ryuji Tsuchiyama, Youichi Kawakubo, Hiromitsu Tokisue

Publication number: 20010055175Abstract: A magnetic disk device having a head IC on a magnetic head supporting mechanism. In order to secure the reliability by controlling the IC temperature below a predetermined level, the difference in the IC cooling ability varying with the radial position on the disk is quantified, so that power (signal) sufficient to maintain a constant temperature according to the IC temperature is supplied to the IC. Since the cooling ability at a given radial position of the IC is not exceeded by the power consumption, the IC temperature can be maintained below a predetermined level.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2001Publication date: December 27, 2001Inventors: Mikio Tokuyama, Ryoichi Ichikawa, Shigeo Nakamura, Toshihiko Shimizu, Hiromitsu Masuda, Hiromitsu Tokisue
