  • Publication number: 20040097107
Abstract: An insulator used in an electrical connector has a plate like portion. The plate like portion has upper and lower surfaces perpendicular to a Z-direction and is elongated in an X-direction. In the lower surface, a plurality of grooves are formed and extend in parallel with each other in a Y-direction. The grooves are arranged with intervals in the X-direction so that a plurality of ridges is formed between the respective neighboring grooves in the X-direction. In the upper surface of the plate like portion, material-depressed portions are provided. Each material-depressed portion extends in the Y-direction and has a shape longer in the Y-direction than in the X-direction. Each material-depressed portion is positioned in correspondence with one of the ridges. The insulator is made of anisotropic resin.

  • Publication number: 20040091046
Abstract: An improved method and system for motion-compensated temporal interpolation of video frames during video processing for computer video images, video games and other video effects where changes of an object's form or movement exist. One or more new intermediate video frames are generated and introduced in a processed video sequence in order to produce the appearance of more realistic motion of subjects. Information is obtained from existing video frames and an improved motion estimation algorithm, one that determines the true motion vectors of subject movement, is applied to re-create one or more missing frames. The addition of intermediate video frames further allows for an increase in the viewable frame rate and thereby provides improved frame-by-frame continuity of movement.

  • Publication number: 20040091173
Abstract: The current invention discloses a system for the construction of band-pass filters, used for the alteration of the dimensions of half-tone images. The method may be used for the spatial interpolation of a video sequence and a single image. The method works equally well for different classes of images of high-quality scaled images that do. In the resulting images a gradual effect on the contours or other defects associated with previous methods is absent. The method includes two algorithms. The first permits the lengthwise and/or width-wise enlargement of the image an even number of times. The second permits the reduction of the image by a fraction. The given method provides good quality when scaling of a video sequence in real time.

  • Patent number: 6712625
Abstract: An electronic component is obtained by forming a primer plating layer of a material which is poorly wettable to a weld brazing material 3 on a base member 11X of a contact 11 having a terminal section 111 for brazing and a contact section 112, and then forming a finish plating layer of a material which is highly wettable to the weld brazing material on the primer plating layer. An exposed region of the poorly wettable primer plating layer is formed thereafter by selectively removing a portion of the finish plating layer at the terminal section 111 and served as an arresting region for arresting the weld brazing material 3 from creeping up and migrating along the highly wettable plating layer in brazing the terminal section 111 to the brazing pad 22 of a wiring board 2.

  • Publication number: 20040013313
Abstract: The present invention teaches a method of compressing still images in a multi-purpose compression system. The current invention teaches preprocessing of the images to a YUV 4:2:0 format and decomposing the images using two-dimensional Discrete Wavelet Transformation. The current invention teaches that filters may be selected based on image dimensions. After the image is decomposed, the frequency coefficients are quantized and the data is entropy encoded. The image is restored by reversing the compression process.

  • Publication number: 20030152147
Abstract: The disclosed method provides a new resolution of the aperture problem, which is one of the basic problems present in motion estimation technology. The method constitutes a resolution of this problem by means of adaptive transfer to smaller blocks. The approach consists of adaptive partitioning of the picture with the use of quadratic trees. If an aperture problem is detected in the block, then the block partitions with the help of quadratic trees into smaller blocks. The partitioning continues until either the aperture problem is resolved or the smallest size block is reached. Through the use of this method, the aperture problem is successfully resolved without substantial loss in the degree of compression.

  • Publication number: 20030128880
Abstract: The invention teaches correlation analysis of the stochastic relationship between video images for use in motion estimation. On the basis of the method of analysis of correlation values as temporal series, a method was created for the analysis of the dynamics of the objects in the scenes, the isolation of quasi-static fragments of the images and the use of the obtained information for the construction of optimal procedures for making decisions in the control of motion estimation and the isolation of different types of motion of the objects. The dynamics of motion of objects or blocks in a video scene can be predicted, and the results of the predicting permit the isolation in motion of each element of the scene—the following components: camera motion, object motion, object distortion thereby allowing the possibility of isolating groups of blocks for which a given coding strategy has maximum effectiveness.

  • Publication number: 20030128754
Abstract: The method for video compression to a high degree on the basis of the calculation of motion estimation is based on obtaining complete information and on the structure and dynamic of the inter-frame interaction and its use in video compression procedures. Video films are presented as a series of scenarios, which are examined as a series of scenes, dynamically replacing each other. Scene analysis is presented as a labeled graph of relationships between subjects. Coding of scenes permits consideration of their structure and the structure of subjects by using an adaptive metric. An increase in the degree of compression and improvement in the quality of the images obtained by removal of unwanted artifacts during compression are permitted. The disclosed method checks for conflicting situations during motion estimation, and its reverse-recursive structure provides for their removal. The stochastic nature of the criteria for the proximity of the object is also considered.
