  • Publication number: 20030120375
Abstract: When creating other tool path from two tool paths for cutting a work accurately and efficiently, the data on the first tool path is composed of a position vector and a direction vector of a tool for use when the work is cut while moving the tool. The data on the second tool path is composed of a position vector and a direction vector of the tool for use when the work, which has been cut according to the first tool path, is further cut. A computer uses the first tool path data and second tool path data to calculate a position vector and a direction vector of a medium tool path that is between the first tool path and second tool path.

  • Patent number: 6578953
Abstract: A dummy piezoelectric element (7) is disposed at least at one of the ends of an array of piezoelectric vibration elements. A region not including internal electrodes is provided in the vicinity of the outer side surface of the dummy piezoelectric vibration element 7 to be formed. When the outer side surface of the dummy piezoelectric element 7 is cut, a shift of a cutting line from a correct cutting line, which is due to high hardness of the internal electrodes, is minimized.

  • Patent number: 5992976
Abstract: An apparatus which provides a reliable connection of a flexible cable to a transducer unit without damaging the transducer unit. Rounded projections (45) are provided at both ends of the flexible cable (40) when viewed in the direction in which the piezoelectric transducing elements (21) are arrayed, while the rounded projections (45) face a fixing plate (27) onto which the piezoelectric transducing elements (21) are fastened. Each rounded projection has such a height as to prevent the connection terminals of the flexible cable from being inadvertently inserted into the spaces between the adjacent piezoelectric transducing elements of the transducer unit when the flexible cable is located on surface of the transducer unit. At the time of soldering, the connection terminals of the flexible cable (40) are positioned just above the piezoelectric transducing elements (21) of the transducer unit.

  • Patent number: 5566281
Abstract: In order to generate a display of a surface, an equation or equations are generated corresponding to all or parts of the surface. The equation or equations represent the surface as a physical membrane. Boundary conditions of the surface can thus be specified, and the equation solved using the boundary conditions as outer constraints to generate a display of the surface. A set of points within the boundary of the surface may be specified, which then define inner constraints for the solution of the equation. Where parts of the surface join at a point or line, a further equation can be generated, which further equation represents the area around the join as a physical membrane. Solution of that equation, preserving the boundary of the area around the join, provides a smooth transition between the parts of the surface.

  • Patent number: 5517319
Abstract: An image combining device scans an image on a large document and prints it. The device includes a memory for storing image signals. In accordance with a first aspect of the device, a scanner scans areas of the document which are individually smaller than the area of the entire document, but combines the areas so as provide an eye-readable representation of the image which was on the large document. This is achieved quickly and efficiently by adjusting a magnification ratio applied to scanned image data, so as to allow the data to fit within the memory. In accordance with another aspect of the device, the combination of the images and the printing of the output are achieved by compressing image data using a binarization processor.
