  • Publication number: 20090108697
Abstract: A method of fixing a stator core in a cylindrical housing includes the following steps. The first step is a step of blanking a plurality of stator core sheets from an electromagnetic steel sheet by using a die. The die has a circular outside contour for blanking the stator core sheets from the electromagnetic steel sheet and each of the blanked stator core sheets has an outside contour. The second step is a step of forming the stator core by laminating the blanked stator core sheets one on another. The third step is a step of setting a non-fixing position of the stator core to the housing in such an angular position where difference in diametral dimension of the outside contour between the die and the stator core is relatively large.

  • Patent number: 7521833
Abstract: A rotating electric machine including circumferential portions respectively corresponding to magnetic pole centers of permanent magnets and defined along the outer circumference of the rotor at a plurality of locations, with each circumferential portion extending along part of a virtual circumferential surface, which is coaxial with the rotor. The circumferential portions are spaced from one another in the circumferential direction. Convex portions connect adjacent pairs of the circumferential portions. Each convex portion is located radially inward from the circumferential surface, projects in a radially outward direction, and includes angled portions directed in the radially outward direction. The rotating electric machine suppresses decrease in the average value of the output torque and does not use reluctance torque to increase the average value of the output torque.

  • Patent number: 7498545
Abstract: A coil of an electric motor is cooled by refrigerant. A controller for the electric motor controls a current supplied to the coil within a range less than or equal to a predetermined maximum value. A temperature detection section detects either a temperature of the coil or a temperature about the coil. When a detection temperature that is detected by the temperature detection section prior to activation of the electric motor reaches a predetermined reference temperature, a limiting section executes a limiting control to limit an upper limit value of the current supplied to the coil to a limiting value that is less than the maximum value. Accordingly, the coil of the electric motor is protected without stopping the operation of the electric compressor immediately after activation.

  • Patent number: 7432625
Abstract: An armature for use in a motor has a plurality of teeth, a plurality of slots and coils of three kinds of phases. A plurality of the slots is formed between the coadjacent teeth. The coils of three phases are wound around the teeth. The armature has a coil structure, according to which radial force acting on a specific tooth is greater than radial force acting on another tooth. A peak value of the radial force acting on the specific tooth is approximated to a peak value of the radial force acting on another tooth in such a manner that a flux path in and/or adjacent to the specific tooth is made narrower than a flux path in and/or adjacent to another tooth.

  • Publication number: 20080174197
Abstract: A stator includes a first through a third windings, and a first and a second interphase insulators. The first interphase insulator has a first pair of strip-shaped insulating sheets and a first connecting portion. End portions of the insulating sheets are connected to the respective opposite end portions to form joints. The first connecting portion connects the insulating sheets so that the joints are shifted so as to be disposed in a region avoiding an interference with the first winding on both of a lead-extending side and the opposite side. In the second interphase insulator similarly constructed, a second connecting portion connects a second pair of the strip-shaped insulating sheets so that joints are shifted so as to be disposed in a region avoiding an interference with the third winding on both of the lead-extending side and the opposite side.

  • Publication number: 20070284962
Abstract: A method for mounting coil onto stator for rotary electric machine. The method includes forming coil pieces by winding wire with flat cross section into single row lamination state including wire layers aligned along perpendicular line to flat surfaces of wire. The coil is formed for first portion to be inserted in slot and second portion not inserted in slot appear alternately along the coil. The method displaces wire layers at the first portion changing the single row lamination state to connectively laminated state where wire layers at portion to be inserted in slot each adjacent pair of the wire layers partially overlap with respect to direction perpendicular to flat wire surfaces. The method includes inserting wires of first portion into slot, passing each wire layer through slot opening successively from the top wire layer of lamination and displacing each wire layer at first portion from each other.

  • Publication number: 20070273239
Abstract: A housing of an electric motor includes an inner circumferential surface, which includes recesses arranged along the circumferential direction. On an outer circumferential surface of a stator core of a stator are provided protrusions arranged along the circumferential direction. Fitting each protrusion to the corresponding recess fixes the stator core to the housing. A rotor is provided radially inward of the stator. In a state where each protrusion is fitted to the corresponding recess, a pair of side surfaces of each protrusion are retained by a pair of inner side surfaces of the corresponding recess in the circumferential direction of the housing. A gap is formed between an end face of each protrusion and an inner bottom surface of the corresponding recess facing the end face along the entire surface of the end face.

  • Publication number: 20070210669
Abstract: An electric motor includes an annular housing and an annular stator core having the inner periphery the shape of which differs from a perfect circle. The stator core is supported by the housing in such a manner that the outer periphery of the stator core and the inner periphery of the housing are partially in contact with each other. The inner periphery of the stator core is deformed to become close to the shape of the perfect circle when the stator core is securely fitted in the housing by shrink fitting.

  • Publication number: 20070200447
Abstract: A plurality of convex portions are located inside of a virtual circumferential surface. Each convex portion connects an adjacent pair of circumferential portions with each other. Each convex portion is an arcuate curve bulging radially outward. Each convex portion defines a minimum radius. A difference between a radius R and the minimum radius is a depth Dh. Dhr=Dh×25.5/R. A range of an angular width A in relation to circumferential portion and a range of the depth Dh are set by the following expression, (5.6×Dhr+11.3)°×6/p?A<35°×6/p and A<[360/p?2×arccos]° ??(1) Therefore, decrease in torque is prevented. Torque pulsation is suppressed.
