  • Publication number: 20150286335
Abstract: When an excitation frequency of a touch panel is coincident with or in the vicinity of a frequency of external noise, noise cannot be removed by a bandpass filter. Also when a touch detecting operation period is limited to a short period of time such as a non-address period, frequency resolution is reduced and a noise removal effect of averaging is reduced, so that an S/N ratio is decreased.

  • Publication number: 20150276663
Abstract: The ion sensors using TFT or MOSFET are low in the measurement sensitivity so that it is difficult to detect an extremely small amount of sensing-target substance. A TFT ion sensor includes both a gate electrode (a silicon substrate) and a reference electrode, in which the electrostatic capacitance of a gate insulating film (a thermal oxide film) is set to be larger than the electrostatic capacitance of an ion sensitive insulating film. Therefore, it is possible to detect the concentration of ions, hormones, and the like in a sensing-target substance from the shift in the threshold voltage of the gate-source voltage to source-drain current property.

  • Publication number: 20150042357
Abstract: When the excitation frequency of a touch panel and the frequency of external noise match or are close, noise cannot be removed by a bandpass filter. In addition, when a touch detection operating period is limited to a short period such as the no addressing period, the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) decreases because frequency separation decreases and the noise removal effect by averaging is degraded. An electronic device of the present invention includes a sensor system (101), an excitation generator (102) that generates an intermittent sinusoidal signal and applies this signal to the sensor system, and a demodulator (105) that demodulates the amplitude modulated signal that is the output of the sensor system.

  • Patent number: 8928620
Abstract: A combination flat-panel touch sensor/display device includes a display device substrate on which signal lines, scanning lines and storage capacitance lines for applying electrical signals to liquid crystal are formed. A surface of the flat-panel display device corresponding to a display area has a transparent conductive film serving as an impedance surface. The device further includes current detecting circuits for detecting currents that flow through the impedance surface. In an interval over which the current detecting circuits detect current, at least one of the signal lines, scanning lines and storage capacitance lines is placed at a high impedance. The device reduces thickness without decline in display characteristics.
