  • Patent number: 6108461
Abstract: A color contact image sensor has a light source for emitting illuminating light, a board supporting a sensor element for photoelectrically converting incident light applied thereto, and a light guide fixed to a surface of the board remotely from the light source. The board has a light guide area for transmitting the illuminating light emitted from the light source and applied to the board into the light guide. The sensor element is positioned for receiving light reflected by a subject to which the illuminating light emitted from the light source and passing through the light guide area and the light guide is applied. A color filter is disposed on the board in either a path of the illuminating light emitted from the light source or a path of the light reflected by the subject.

  • Patent number: 6058224
Abstract: In a manual scanning type image input apparatus and an image signal processing method, unevenness of scanning is hard to occur due to the simple constitution. A line image sensor reads an image data of prescribed manuscript while implementing electrical main scanning with predetermined driving cycle, before a movement distance encoder detects movement distance in the direction of mechanical auxiliary scanning. A line image data which is read by the line image sensor is distributed to either one of two systems to be stored temporarily in the line memory of the two systems. The line image data which is stored temporarily is read out selectively by a data selector, before being constructed as an image data based on an address of the selected line image data by decoder.

  • Patent number: 5877492
Abstract: A full-contact type image sensor which includes a light source, a plurality of photo-electric conversion elements having apertures, a photoelectric conversion region, a plurality of micro-lenses, and an optical fiber converging member. The light from the light source is allowed to pass solely through the apertures and is blocked by the photoelectric conversion regions. The micro-lenses may be provided in one-to-one correspondence to a plurality of apertures or one-to-one correspondence to a plurality of optical fibers. The micro-lenses may be provided at least at one of a photoelectric conversion element side end and an original document side end of the optical fiber converging member.

  • Patent number: 4740076
Abstract: A focusing apparatus for performing the switching operation between the automatic focuse mode and the manual command focuse mode. The focusing apparatus includes a selection circuit which is provided between an automatic focusing circuit and a manual command focusing circuit for selectively deriving first or second drive signals therefrom so that either of the first or second drive signals is supplied to a drive device for allowing the movement of a focusing lens in the optical axis directions. The manual command focusing circuit is arranged to generate the second drive signal in response to a manipulation of a switch device, the output of which is also coupled to the selection circuit so that the switching operation is effected in accordance therewith.
