  • Patent number: 8186372
Abstract: A fuel shut-off valve includes a casing, an ascendable and descendible float, and an upper valve element, which is actuated by the float to open and close connector passage that communicates the inside of fuel tank with the outside, and which includes a valve body and a ring-shaped seat member. The ring-shaped seat member makes a connector bore, which communicates with the connector passage, therein, and includes a base, a holding portion, a seating portion, a lip-shaped portion, and a thin-film-shaped portion. The seating portion opens and closes the connector passage, and defines an opening of the connector bore. The lip-shaped portion seats on and separates away from the float, and defines the other opening of the connector bore. The thin-film-shaped portion is disposed between the base and the lip-shaped portion, and is deformable elastically upon being pressed by the float when the float seats on the lip-shaped portion.

  • Publication number: 20110017320
Abstract: A fuel cutoff valve includes a first float mechanism housed in a first valve chamber of a casing, and a second float mechanism housed in a second valve chamber. During fueling operations, when an intake opening becomes blocked by fuel, the second float mechanism closes second vent holes, and the first float mechanism closes a connecting passage. At times other than fueling operations, when the intake opening becomes blocked by fuel, because the fuel tank interior and the first and second valve chambers, communicate through the second vent holes in addition to the first vent holes, differential pressure between tank internal pressure and pressure of the valve chambers does not rise to the point of actuating the closing operation of the first float mechanism, and the fuel tank FT does not become sealed.

  • Patent number: 7527064
Abstract: The fuel cutoff valve comprises a valve support on the upper part of the float, and the seat member is mounted on the valve support. The valve support has the bending space that has an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the seal part. The seat member is formed from a rubber material, has a side wall formed in a cylindrical shape from the outer periphery of the seat part and a stopper on the side wall, forming the mounting space by being formed in an almost a rectangle shape cross section, and being supported on the valve support by fitting the valve support on the mounting space. The seat part is elastically deformed in the bending space direction when set on the seal part and closes the connection path.

  • Publication number: 20090000669
Abstract: A fuel cutoff valve 10 has a float assembly 52 and an upper valve plug 60 located in a valve chest 30S defined by a casing 20. The float assembly 52 has a valve support member 55 formed in its upper portion to support the upper valve plug 60. The upper valve plug 60 has a support convex 66b held on a support plane 56a of the valve support member 55, where a center of gravity of the upper valve plug 60 is located below a supporting point 55a around which the support convex 66b is balanced on the valve support member 55. The upper valve plug 60 includes a first valve section 61 and a second valve section 65. The first valve section 61 has a first valve body 62 and a sheet member 64. The first valve body 62 is made of POM (polyoxymethylene), while the second valve section 65 is made of PA6 (polyamide) containing 30% of glass fibers. The second valve section 65 is accordingly structured to have a lower density than the first valve body 62.

  • Patent number: 7428914
Abstract: A flow control valve includes a housing, a valve element, a valve-element urger, a first valve, and a second valve. The first valve closes the communication between inlet and outlet openings of the housing gradually when the valve-element urger moves the valve element away from the inlet opening. The second valve opens the communication between the inlet and outlet openings when the valve-element urger moves the valve element away from the inlet opening. The first valve is opened, and the second valve is closed when a differential pressure between a pressure of the fluid on an inlet-opening side and a pressure of the fluid on an outlet-opening side is a predetermined value or less. The second valve opens the communication between the inlet and outlet openings instantaneously when the differential pressure is more than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7320769
Abstract: A welding joint 10 for a fuel tank reduces the amount of fuel vapor in the fuel tank that escapes into the atmosphere. The fuel tank welding joint 10 a joint main body 20 and a barrier layer laminated on the surface of the joint main body 20. The joint main body 20 is formed of a first resin material weldable to the wall of the fuel tank FT, and the barrier layer 30 is formed of a second resin material that is adhesively and chemically reactive with the first resin material and that is more fuel-impermeable than the first resin material. An end portion 34 formed so as to be exposed to the outside at the end of a tube portion 24 is formed on the barrier layer 30. When the barrier layer 30 is injection molded on the surface of the joint main body 20, the end portion 34 is formed by the flow of the second resin material through the end of the tube portion 24 to increase the adhesive strength of the end face where the parts are joined.
