  • Publication number: 20010050104
Abstract: A fuel cutoff valve includes a full fuel control valve and an overfill prevention valve inside a casing. The overfill prevention valve is equipped with first and second floats. The second float is disposed in the storage chamber inside the first float of the full fuel control valve while being allowed to move up and down. The second float is configured such that a second connection conduit is closed by a second valve element as a result of a rising movement when the fuel level exceeds a second liquid level located above a first liquid level, and the second valve element is connected to a first connection conduit through a second connection conduit to reduce the force with which the first valve element of the first float is pressed against a first seat as a result of the fact that the fuel level has dropped below the second liquid level but is still above the first liquid level.

  • Patent number: 6286539
Abstract: A fuel cutoff valve is mounted on an upper wall of a fuel tank to open and close a connection conduit, so as to connect and disconnect the fuel tank with and from outside. The fuel cutoff valve of the present invention includes a casing, a cup-shaped float, a bottom plate, and a cover. Both the cover and the casing swell in the liquid fuel. The cover is made of a first resin material, which has the greater fuel swelling property than a second resin material that is applied for the casing. The cover is accordingly expanded to a greater degree than the casing. A holder unit disposed on the casing increases the supporting force against a support member of the cover with the swell of the cover. The casing is thus securely held by the cover via the holder unit and is not movable against the cover under the swelling condition of the cover.

  • Patent number: 5598872
Abstract: A check valve which opens and closes a flow path according to pressure differences includes a valve body having a thin annular portion which is flexible in a direction towards an annular seat of a valve body seal member, to close the flow path when seated on the annular seat. A valve body supporting member allows the thin annular portion to bend thereby defining a space between a periphery of the thin annular portion and the seat. A spring applies its elastic force to the valve body so that the valve body is seated on the seat closing the flow path, and a part of the thin annular portion corresponding to a predetermined range of central angles of the annular seat is bent-off the annular seat earlier than the other portions thereof when a pressure greater than the elastic force of the spring is applied to the valve body. Thus, the valve is prevented from being vibrated slightly and accordingly from producing noise when operated.

  • Patent number: 5582198
Abstract: A fuel shut-off device in which easier assembly and improved air-tight sealing can be achieved. A partition wall plate is ultrasonically welded to a fixing steplike portion of a case body to form an air-tight bidirectional valve chamber comprising the partition wall plate and the case body. The bidirectional valve chamber accommodates a bidirectional valve composed of a positive pressure valve mechanism and a negative pressure valve mechanism. A negative pressure valve member of the negative pressure valve mechanism and a negative pressure spring are formed into an integral structure with a positive pressure valve member of the positive pressure valve mechanism. The positive pressure valve member is formed into an integral structure with the partition wall plate by the engagement of an engaging ring-shaped member of a valve receiving member and an engaging arc-shaped member of the partition wall plate.

  • Patent number: 5529086
Abstract: A float valve for use in a fuel tank, having a float for regulating air flow out of an air outflow channel provided in an upper portion of the fuel tank. An air flow deflecting portion provided on the float prevents the float from being lifted as air and fuel vapors displaced when the fuel tank is filled-up escape the tank. When the fuel level in the tank rises to a filled-up position, the outflow of air is stopped by the float.

  • Patent number: 5500348
Abstract: The monoclonal antibodies of the present invention makes it possible to separate basophils suitable for the IgE-mediated specific chemical mediator release test, because it retains its reactivity with basophils even after being immobilized onto a solid carrier, and because it does not inhibit release of chemical mediators induced by allergens or anti-IgE antibody, and does not induce nonspecific release of chemical mediators. Also, the method for separating basophils of the present invention simplifies the separation of basophils from blood, and by using this method, the histamine release test which otherwise requires complex procedures can be simplified. Further, the group of cells obtained by the method for separating basophils of the present invention can easily be utilized in the release tests for chemical mediators released from basophils such as leukotriene and PAF, which otherwise require expertise for handling.

  • Patent number: 4329660
Abstract: In a semiconductor light emitting device, a buried layer of a semiconductor is selectively formed in at least one of a first and a second clad layers in order to determine a light emitting region by the configuration of the buried layer of the semiconductor. The buried layer of the semiconductor has a conductivity type which is opposite to the conductivity type of the surrounding clad layer and an index of refraction which is different from the index of refraction of the surrounding clad layer.
