  • Patent number: 5862762
Abstract: Combustible is comminuted and dried, and metal and noncombustible are removed from the coarsely comminuted combustible. Then, the combustible is secondarily comminuted and separated into coarse combustible and fluff which is fine combustible. The coarse combustible of the separated combustible is fed onto a fire grate (2) of a refuse incinerator (1), and burned in flat bed combustion in a primary combustion chamber (4). On the other hand, the fluff is burned in suspended combustion in a secondary combustion chamber (7) with a combustion fluff burner (5) for incinerating combustible. Thus, refuse containing much plastics which is formed into fluff can be efficiently disposed of, whereby the amount of incineration is increased as a whole.

  • Patent number: 5822008
Abstract: A video scan converter has a deflickering circuit that attenuates spatial frequency components that combine high vertical spatial frequency with low horizontal spatial frequency. The resulting signal is converted from progressive scanning to interlaced scanning by appropriate selection of even and odd horizontal scanning lines. The deflickering circuit may also expand a selected part of the video signal by vertical interpolation, followed by vertical low-pass filtering, in which case a separate horizontal interpolating circuit expands the selected part horizontally, preferably after progressive-to-interlaced scan conversion.

  • Patent number: 5808697
Abstract: A video contrast enhancer enhances luminance contrast by dividing each video frame or field into blocks, calculating a mean luminance level for each block, selecting mapping functions on the basis of these mean luminance levels over a series of frames or fields, and mapping the video luminance levels according to the selected mapping functions. Color-saturation contrast is enhanced by modifying the amplitude of the modulated chrominance signal by the histogram equalization method, preferably by making a single linear modification in each period of the chrominance signal, so that color phase is not affected. For video signals with non-picture bands, these enhancements are preferably restricted to the picture area. If a black offset is present, it is preferably removed.

  • Patent number: 5610939
Abstract: A digital correlator used in a receiving component of a spread spectrum communication system of a direct sequence modulation type is disclosed. A polarity of an input baseband signal is controlled by being inverted or not inverted according to a polarity of a spreading code signal by an amplifier, and the input baseband signal controlled is converted by an analog-to-digital converter into a digital signal. The digital signal is integrated for a prescribed period in an integrator, and a square of an integrated digital signal is calculated in a squaring device to obtain a squared value indicating a degree of a correlation between the input baseband signal and the spreading code signal. In cases where the input baseband signal and the spreading code signal correlate with each other, the squared value gradually increases with the passage of time. In contrast, in cases where the input baseband signal and the spreading code signal do not correlate with each other, the squared value is maintained to a low value.

  • Patent number: 5418574
Abstract: A video signal correction apparatus has a memory for storing a luminance value and color difference values for each pixel in an image, a horizontal color difference correction arrangement and a vertical color difference correction arrangement. The horizontal color difference correction arrangement includes a luminance change point detector for detecting leading and trailing edges, in which an area defined between the leading and trailing edges is a boundary between two colors. The colors in a region outside the boundary and adjacent to the edges are bleeding. The color difference values further outside the bleeding region are sampled to make reference color difference value. The reference color difference value is used for replacing the color difference values in the bleeding region to eliminate or reduce the bleeding color.
