  • Patent number: 5568626
Abstract: A method and system for storing data in a non-volatile memory having a plurality of memory regions each assigned with a serial address to permit serial accessing of the plurality of memory regions. Each memory region has a writing count number storing region and a data storing region. In accessing the non-volatile memory, contents of the writing count number storing regions are checked serially to locate an effective memory region having the last serial address among memory regions having the same writing count number. In writing data into the non-volatile memory, a memory region having an address following that of the located effective memory region will be accessed, and in reading data from the non-volatile memory, the located effective memory region will be accessed. The final address of the non-volatile memory is followed by the first address thereof, thus permitting circular or access to the serially addressed memory regions of the non-volatile memory.

  • Patent number: 5528298
Abstract: In an image encoding apparatus, conversion data obtained by converting image information onto a frequency region, and corresponding to several frames are parallelly output using a one-frame-period delay circuit. The parallelly output conversion data are quantized by a quantization circuit, and a data amount to be obtained when the quantized data are encoded is obtained by a variable-length coding circuit. The data amount information is input to a coefficient operation circuit for determining a quantization step of the next stage. Conversion data quantized according to an output from the coefficient operation circuit are encoded, and the encoded data are output.

  • Patent number: 5354136
Abstract: A highly reliable, low-noise, printer for providing good print quality while configured to print and feed paper using a single motor. A cam mechanism is used to provide simplified control over paper feeding operations. A print head carriage is driven by a belt drive gear assembly that also drives the paper feed cam directly. A paper feed roller is rotated by a drive lever assembly which interacts with a first cam profile formed on a surface of the paper feed cam, and the resulting torque is controlled by a contact release mechanism driven by interaction with a second cam profile also formed on a surface of the paper feed cam.

  • Patent number: 5235220
Abstract: On determining an entire majority of five i-th received data bits which correspond to an i-th original data bit repeatedly received five times, first through I-th received data bits of a first received frame are stored in a main buffer (41) as first through I-th memorized data bits. A first partial majority is determined as regards two data bits, the i-th memorized data bit and an i-th received data bit of a second received frame. When the two data bits are and are not identical, first and second logic values are stored in an auxiliary buffer (42) as an i-th auxiliary data bit. Second and third partial majorities are successively determined by using the memorized and the auxiliary data bits. Likewise determined, a fourth partial majority gives the entire majority.

  • Patent number: 5212810
Abstract: Terminal equipment having transmitting and receiving functions for a vehicle radio telephone system has a function thereof limited to one of a plurality of modes depending on the time zone. The equipment is automatically locked when a predetermined period of time expires after the end of a communication. The area wherein a call can be originated on the equipment is limited to one of local, domestic and international areas on the basis of the time zone. A memory has a plurality of addresses each being loaded with a particular telephone number to allow the single equipment to selectively use a plurality of telephone channels, on the basis of the time zone. A plurality of memories each stores a particular speed call number table or a particular unattended telephone message table, so that the tables are selectively used depending on the time zone.

  • Patent number: 5046125
Abstract: A lock control method for on-board terminal equipment of a mobile telecommunications network surely inhibits persons other than the user or an authorized person person from unlocking the equipment with the intention of originating a call thereon. When a unauthorized person enters a lock code resembling a set first lock code, or unlock code, by chance after a great number of lock codes, the first lock code is replaced with a second lock code. Hence, the unauthorized person cannot unlock the equipment despite that the entered code may coincide with the first lock code. While the unauthorized person may further enter other different lock codes, the second lock code serving as the unlock code will be replaced with the first lock code as the entered code approaches the second lock code.

  • Patent number: 4897819
Abstract: A memory protection circuit is provided which prevents data stored in a programmable memory from being destroyed due to uncontrolled operations or malfunction of a writing unit. The memory protection circuit comprises a first decoder for detecting first predetermined data from write data, a second decoder for detecting second predetermined data out of address data which is associated with the write data, and a latch for latching a detection output of the first decoder when both a detection output of the second decoder and a write command signal exist, and for selectively allowing and inhibiting the write data from being written in a memory based on the information being latched.

  • Patent number: 4723855
Abstract: A compact printer has a type drum having at least one row of types, the types, including at least one space, being arranged on the periphery of the drum at regular intervals. The type drum is rotated by a stepper motor and a hammer member is provided for moving a selected type towards the paper for printing. The stepper motor is turned by signals which correspond to each step necessary to move the type drum through at least one pitch distance between types. Ratchet teeth, moving with the type drum, can be engaged by a blocking lever when rotation of the type drum is reversed, so as to stop vibration of the type drum at the time of printing.
