    Abstract: There is provided a technique capable of executing a predetermined processing while continuing a database processing. Firstly, the database to be operated is switched from the main database to a duplicate database. The predetermined processing is executed to the main database which becomes the non-operation mode by the switching. Next, a database access request is distributed to the duplicate database which becomes the operation mode by the switching, thereby performing the database processing. Update information indicating the content of the update processing performed to the duplicate database is output. The output update information is reflected on the main data base for which the predetermined processing has been executed. After this, the database to be operated is switched from the duplicate database to the main database.

    Abstract: A catch phrase generation device stores keywords in association with each other. Each keyword indicates a characteristic of a user, and a property to which each of keywords belongs. A plurality of templates are also stored. Each template has an insertion section for which a keyword property that should be inserted is determined in advance. A template corresponding to guidance information based on a predetermined condition is selected. A keyword acquisition unit analyzes an access history, which has been created by the user or to which the user has made reference, and acquires, based on an analyzed result, a stored keyword. A catch phrase generation unit selects, from among the keywords acquired by the keyword acquisition unit, a keyword belonging to a property identical to the property determined for the insertion section of the selected template, and inserts the selected keyword into the insertion section of the template.

    Abstract: The storage system of the present invention reflects the intentions of the host device in data migration carried out by a storage device. The host manager registers the host-side data migration policy in advance in the operation management server. When the storage device initiates the data migration, the management server compares the storage-side data migration policy and the host-side data migration policy, and when the polices match, the storage device is permitted to carry out the data migration. When the policies do not match, the management server prohibits the storage device from carrying out the data migration. The management server counts the number of times that the policies do not match, and generates and sends a report to the managers in order to draw the attention of the host manager and the storage manager.
