  • Patent number: 5205206
Abstract: This invention relates to a food production apparatus which is preferably used in the preparation of foods such as fried potatoes. In the invention, powder obtained by pulverizing and drying potatoes or the like is provided with water and stirred, and the resulting mixture is extruded to be formed into a predetermined shape. In the invention the mixture of the powder and water is shaped by extruding it through extrusion holes communicating with a mixing chamber, and the shaped mixture which has been extruded from the shaper is then heated. According to the invention, the food is able to be prepared at a desired time and food which has just been prepared is able to be provided in the apparatus. Further, the powder can be preserved for a long time without lowering its freshness, and the powder is mixed with water and shaped as a food material rapidly at a desired time.

  • Patent number: 4994281
Abstract: Polylactic acid microspheres having an average particle diameter of about 0.1 to 10 .mu.m which are produced from solution containing a physiologically active substance by the solvent-evaporation drying process. The microspheres are produced by emulsifying the solution in a non-solvent by the aid of ultrasonic wave. The microspheres produce a sustained release effect of the physiologically active substance.

  • Patent number: 4914411
Abstract: The electro-magnet relay of the present invention utilizes an iron core and an armature both formed as flat plates stacked together. Further, a stationary leaf spring and a moveable leaf spring are provided in the middle section of the iron core having two legs and being shaped as an inverted U. The armature is supported in a hole located in the insulating substrate and may swing to a degree determined by a striking piece formed on the armature. Coil terminals and contact terminals protruding from the bottom of the insulating substrate are arranged in a single line in the electro-magnetic relay of the present invention and may be installed on a high density printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4747811
Abstract: A belt tensioner has a shaft having an oil reservoir in a lower portion thereof and having an external thread and rotatably mounted in a body, a torsion spring provided between the body and the shaft so as to urge the shaft in a rotational direction, and a cylindrical rod having an internal thread engaged with the external thread of the shaft. A lower end of the rod being projected from the body so as to be operatively connected to a tension pulley for a belt. The torsion spring and both the threads are arranged to project rod by the rotation of the shaft urged by the torsion spring. An oil passage is provided in the shaft so as to communicate the oil reservoir with the bore above the internal thread of the rod.

  • Patent number: 4746000
Abstract: A curved escalator includes guide tracks for defining a stairway path which includes a constant slope intermediate section, horizontal landing sections, and transient sections smoothly connecting the intermediate section and the landing sections. Each section of differing slope has a differing radius of curvature which when viewed in plan, is inversely proportional to the slope angle, thereby eliminating the need for drive chains to change the distance between the step axles. Turn-around mechanisms that are compact and simple in structure are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4553674
Abstract: A casing construction including a left post and a right post, each of the left post and the right post being large in width and formed at its front surface with a mounting portion for mounting a plurality of shelves in a plurality of vertically arranged layers, at its rear surface with a mounting portion for mounting a back board, a mounting portion at its upper end for mounting a ceiling board and a mounting portion at its lower end for mounting a floor board. The left post and right post having a variety of functions to perform have the shelves, back board, ceiling board and floor board threadably connected thereto. In this casing construction, the left post and right post perform the function of separating the shelves from cables. A plurality of such casings can be arranged in side-by-side relation to provide a series of casings depending on the size of the electronic equipment intended.
