  • Publication number: 20050122611
Abstract: When a circuit that is likely to cause noise is enabled, a control circuit turns on a switch so that an inverter will be formed by one P-channel MOSFET and two parallel-connected N-channel MOSFETs. This helps enhance the current capacity of the inverter on its N-channel MOSFET side, and thereby lower the threshold voltage of the inverter.

  • Patent number: 6826010
Abstract: In an outer rotor type spindle motor in which a shaft 2 and a stator 3 are supported by and fixed to a flange 1, damping members 4 and 5 are interposed between the flange 1 and the stator 3 and between the flange 1 and the shaft 2, or the flange 1 itself is formed of a damping material. Thus, electromagnetic vibration from the stator 3 or rotating vibration from the shaft 2 are damped and absorbed by the damping members 4 and 5. Accordingly, the generation of vibration or noise in the flange can be prevented which is caused by the transmission of the electromagnetic vibration generated on the stator due to an alternating current supplied to a stator coil or by the transmission of the rotating vibration of a rotor received by the shaft to the flange.

  • Publication number: 20040197604
Abstract: This invention relates to magneto-optical recording media such as magneto-optical disks and cards, manufacturing methods of the medium and a magneto-optical recording and playback device to record and play back data using the magnetic-optical recording media. The magneto-optical recording medium has a recording layer and a reflective layer on a substrate, and the recording layer has a layered structure in which at least on spinel ferrite (or rutile-type oxide or hematite) layer and at least one garnet ferrite layer are piled together. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of heat treatment after the formation of the recording layer. In the magneto-optical recording and playback device to record and playback data, the wavelength of light for recording data is different from that for reading data, which is preferable for a magneto-optical recording medium comprising a garnet ferrite layer.

  • Patent number: 6794774
Abstract: A spindle motor of the present invention is capable of keeping its ball (5a, 5b)'s pre-load constant, because a sleeve (6) is capable of being resiliently deformed due to its resiliency, and therefore capable of constantly keeping a pre-load applied to the balls (5a, 5b) from inner and inner ring raceways of inner and outer rings (3a, 4a, 3b, 4b) of ball bearings (3, 4). In this motor, a rotor hub (7) has an axial center bore (8). This bore (8) is provided with: a large-diameter bore portions in its opposite axial ends; and, a small-diameter bore portion (8a) axially interposed between the large-diameter bore portions. An inner diameter of the small-diameter bore portion (8a) is smaller than an outer diameter of the sleeve (6).

  • Publication number: 20040130727
Abstract: A method and an apparatus of inspecting the surface of a wafer, where two or more kinds of laser are switched or mixed to make the laser incident on the film-coated wafer by a same incident angle, in which inspection data regarding an inspection apparatus and film parameters regarding a film are stored in storage means of the inspection apparatus in an associated state with each other so as to obtain predetermined inspection conditions. When performing each measurement, an operator sets the film parameters of the wafer to be measured by setting means of the inspection apparatus. Thus, desired inspection conditions are automatically set in the inspection apparatus. The film parameters that the operator sets at each measurement are a film thickness and a film refraction index.

  • Patent number: 6744037
Abstract: A scan beam light quantity distribution method and apparatus using a two-dimensional area light receiving sensor (8) movable in the same direction as scan direction of a scan beam. The two-dimensional area light receiving sensor (8) detects a scan beam while moving in the scan direction of the scan beam. The scan beam received by the two-dimensional area light receiving sensor (8) is correlated with position information when stored in data storage section (10.) By using scan beam data stored in the data storage section, analysis is made on a light quantity distribution of the scan beam scanned in X-direction.
