  • Patent number: 7760200
Abstract: An LCD drive of an image data-outputting unit causes an LCD to display thereon the same image twice and perform overdrive for a frame period in a first mode, causes the LCD to display thereon an image to be displayed in the first half of the frame period and display thereon a black image in the second half of the frame period in a second mode, and causes the LCD to display thereon the same image twice for the frame period without performing the overdrive in a third mode.

  • Publication number: 20080211830
Abstract: According to one embodiment, there is provided a video signal conversion apparatus including a determination unit which receives a video signal to determine whether the video signal is an xvYCC standard video signal or a YCBCR standard video signal, a first conversion unit which converts the xvYCC standard video signal into an RGB standard video signal to output the RGB standard video signal when the determination unit determines that the video signal is the xvYCC standard video signal, and a second conversion unit which converts the YCBCR standard video signal into the RGB standard video signal to output the RGB standard video signal when the determination unit determines that the video signal is the YCBCR standard video signal.

  • Publication number: 20080001872
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device (1) according to the invention adds a former image and a latter image which are continuous. When an image corresponding to a received video signal is a still image, an effect of noise reduction is provided by multiplying the former image by a positive coefficient. On the other hand, when an image corresponding to the received video signal is a moving image, a difference between the former image and the latter image is obtained by multiplying the former image by a negative coefficient, thereby providing an effect of overdrive.

  • Publication number: 20080002069
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device (1) according to the invention, when an image corresponding to an inputted video signal is a moving image complying with an interlace system, inserts a black signal as an interpolation signal into each of corresponding interlace non-scanning portions (101) without generating the interpolation signal from upper and lower side scanning lines with respect to a scanning line concerned for the video signal (100a or 100b). Alternatively, the interpolation signal generated from the upper and lower side scanning lines with respect to a scanning line concerned for the video signal can also be inserted into each of corresponding interlace non-scanning portions (101) instead of using the black signal.

  • Patent number: 5734436
Abstract: The signals received by tuners are processed respectively by video processing circuits and fed to a synthesizing circuit by way of compression circuits so that the images of the signals are displayed respectively on left and right side sections of the screen of a display unit. The characters and graphics from a teletext/data transmission decoder are synthetically combined with the portions of the images of the video signals for blank zones of the screen by the synthesizing circuit. The characters and graphics transmitted through a data channel are displayed clearly to the viewer by an ingenious technique devised for displaying characters and graphics of a supplementary program.

  • Patent number: 5680177
Abstract: A multi-screen television receiver which can display first and second video signals on a picture tube as a main picture screen and a sub-picture screen adjacent to each other, includes a video input switching circuit for selectively outputting a first input video signal associated with the main picture screen and a second input video signal associated with the sub-picture screen from a plurality of video signals, first and second video processing systems for the main picture and sub-picture screens for processing the luminance and the color of the first and second video signals from the video input switching circuit, first and second scaling-down arrangements for scaling down the pictures of the output signals of the first and second video processing systems to the sizes of the main picture and sub-picture screens, a combiner for combining selected output signals from the first and second processing systems to supply the combined signal to the picture tube, an encoder for encoding the combined signal from the

  • Patent number: 5504535
Abstract: A display is to be produced based on video signals having aspect ratios of 4:3 and 16:9. Controller 21 turns on switches SW1 and SW2 so that the digitalized video signal of the first picture is compressed at a rate of 3/8 in the time axis. Simultaneously, the video signal of the second picture is converted digitally, written into memory 14 in synchronization with the first picture video signal, read out based on a delay of 3H/8 from the synchronization with the first picture video signal, and sent to a digital processing circuit 13. The controller 21 controls the digital processing circuit 13 so as to compress in the time axis the video signal of the second picture at a compressing rate of 5/8. Also, the controller 21 controls a vertical amplitude switching signal generator 19 to adjust a vertical deflecting current in a deflecting circuit 18 based on an operation by the audience.

  • Patent number: 5023753
Abstract: According to such formation, a common mode noise source will be produced between a ground pattern and signal pattern parallelly formed adjacently to the signal pattern and normal mode noise sources will be produced respectively between the signal pattern and a ground plane and between ground pattern and ground plane. However, the noise from the common mode noise source will be canceled by a capacitor between the signal pattern and ground pattern and the normal mode noises produced respectively between the signal pattern and ground plane and between the ground pattern and ground plane can be absorbed into the ground plane by the capacitor between the signal pattern and ground plane and the capacitor between the signal pattern and ground plane. Also, the common mode noise flowing into the ground pattern can be more positively removed by using a line filter.
