  • Patent number: 5650844
Abstract: The contrast of an LCD panel is accurately measured with a small number of CCD pixels when measuring the LCD panel using a CCD camera. Therefore, a CCD area sensor is used in the CCD camera in this invention. An LCD driver section displays a calibration pattern or test patterns on the LCD panel to be inspected. An image measuring section performs A/D conversion on the contrast detected by the CCD pixels, and a CCD address setting means of the LCD pixels specifies the positions of the LCD pixels and the positions of the corresponding CCD pixels using luminescent spots of a calibration pattern. The address setting means determines the sampling addresses of each of the LCD pixels from the addresses of the luminescent spots using real number calculations. A presampling processing means converts the measured image to an image with the same number of pixels as the pattern on the LCD panel by means of linear interpolation.

  • Patent number: 5121199
Abstract: In a color image signal evaluating apparatus and method, a color image signal corresponding to each pixel position on a display screen is converted by a color signal converter to an I signal and a Q signal, which are stored, as pixel data, in first and second image memories, each at an address corresponding to the pixel position. The I signal and Q signal read out of the first and second image memories are differentiated by first and second differentiators, respectively, with respect to the directions of pixel arrays to thereby obtain an I-signal differentiated value and a Q-signal differentiated value at each pixel position. A vector-composed value of the I-signal differentiated value and the Q-signal differentiated value at each pixel position is calculated and is stored in a third image memory.

  • Patent number: 4964308
Abstract: In a device for measuring torsional torque applied to a fixed or revolving shaft made of a magnetic material by producing a magnetic circuit in which the flux path includes a section of the shaft and detecting a magnetostrictive change induced by the torque, the surface of said section of the shaft is formed with a series of parallel grooves and/or lands or protuberances inclining at a suitable angle with the longitudinal axis of the shaft to thereby cause magnetic flux in the surface layer of the shaft to extend approximately in the direction of tensile or compressive stress produced by the torque. It is preferred to form a first series of parallel grooves extending sprially and inclining 45.degree. with said axis in one section of the shaft and a second series of parallel and spiral grooves inclining 45.degree. with said axis and reverse to the first series of grooves in another section of the shaft to detect a difference between magnetostrictive changes in the respective sections.
