    Abstract: A variable delivery compressor containing a plurality of compression chambers and reciprocatory compression pistons is adapted for use in an air-conditioning circuit of a vehicle. The compressor has a suction chamber communicating with the compression chambers by way of a plurality of suction valves, some of which are capable of being deformed by a valve pressing mechanism from a first position, where the refrigerant is compressed, to a second position where the compression of the refrigerant is partially ineffective. The valve pressing mechanism contains an axially movable spool actuated by an actuating unit controlled by a cooling-load responsive control unit.

    Abstract: The present invention contemplates a delivery control valve arrangement adapted for use in a refrigerant gas compressor of double-acting swash plate type in which its delivery capacity can be varied automatically by placing the compression chambers on one side of the compressor under "loaded" and "unloaded" conditions alternately in response to the cooling load. The valve arrangement includes valve means for establishing fluid communication passages for selective application of discharge and suction pressures of the compressor to a plunger movable between two positions corresponding to the loaded and unloaded conditions, respectively, and actuator means operable in response to evaporator-suction or suction-atmosphere pressure differential for actuating the above valves.

    Abstract: An air conditioning unit for cooling and dehumidifying a passenger room of a vehicle including a reciprocatory piston type refrigerant compressor having a refrigerant suction chamber, a compressed refrigerant discharge chamber, and an independent drive chamber for a drive mechanism to reciprocate compressor piston, a condenser, an expansion valve, an evaporator for thermal exchange, and an evaporating pressure control valve adjustably changing a fluid communication between the evaporator and the suction chamber of the compressor in response to a change is a cooling load. The air conditioning unit further includes a fluid bypass passageway providing a constant fluid communication between the evaporator and the drive chamber of the compressor regardless of the change in the cooling load so that a part of a lubricant containing refrigerant is always introduced into the drive chamber.

    Abstract: A variable displacement refrigerant compressor of the variable angle wobble or swash plate type is disclosed. The compressor according to the invention has a displacement control valve which is operable in response to the evaporator pressure so as to restrict the drop thereof by throttling the refrigerant gas flowing through a control port disposed between the evaporator and suction chamber. Crankcase of the compressor is arranged for direct communication with the evaporator so as to keep the crankcase under a pressure which is substantially the same as the evaporator pressure.

    Abstract: A variable-delivery refrigerant compressor wherein the delivery of a compressed refrigerant is adjustable by an actuator which is movable with a discharge pressure of the compressor between a first position at which plural discharge valves corresponding to compression chambers are rendered operative, and a second position at which at least one of the discharge valves is rendered inoperative. A pilot switch valve is disposed in a passage through which the discharge pressure is applied to the actuator. The switch valve controls a supply of refrigerant of the discharge pressure to the actuator such that the actuator is placed in the first position while a suction pressure of the compressor is relatively high, and in the second position while the suction pressure is relatively low.

The detecting unit has a fixed magnetic member and an electric coil wound around the magnetic member.
