  • Patent number: 4400737
Abstract: Apparatus for producing and reproducing embedded patterns in which a character or the like including a pattern which is not observable macroscopically can be differentiated from the other formats microscopically. An input unit reads a normal original image pattern utilizing a raster scanning system. In the apparatus for producing the format, a processing unit includes a gate which receives a signal from the input means and passes or blocks the signal in accordance with the desired embedded pattern. An output unit records the image using the raster scanning system. In the apparatus for reproducing the format, a processing unit includes a gate which blocks or passes an input signal depending on whether or not it contains the embedded pattern.

  • Patent number: 4387435
Abstract: A picture printing device and method for printing pictures using a main scan and a sub scan. A first comparison means counts the number of picture elements in a main-scanning direction and compares that number with a first value preset in the first comparison means. A second comparison means counts the number of scanning lines in a sub-scanning direction and compares that number with a second value preset in the second comparison means. A printer records predetermined signals in response to combinations of the outputs of the first and second comparison means.

  • Patent number: 4303948
Abstract: An image transcribing system for transferring an image from an original document to a recording sheet in which the original image is scanned, converted to binary signals and stored in a first page memory. An image processing section transfers the image data from the first page memory to a second page memory while it is simultaneously enlarged by a predetermined factor. In the enlargement process, the image data is first enlarged by an integer factor then reduced by a fractional factor in accordance with stored bit patterns corresponding to the required fractional factor.

  • Patent number: 4298895
Abstract: Method and apparatus for eliminating noise in a digitally recorded visual image wherein the proportion of picture elements in an area surrounding an objective area having a first visual level or component is determined and the objective area concluded as having the same visual level or component when the proportion is above a predetermined value. In one embodiment, both picture elements in the surrounding and objective areas are counted to determine the proportion while in another only those picture elements in the surrounding area are counted.

  • Patent number: 4094386
Abstract: A speed command voltage is generated which increases in proportion to the lapse of time so as to increase the speed of an elevator car at a constant acceleration after starting. Another speed command voltage is generated which decreases with the reduction in the distance between the position of the travelling elevator car and the target floor position so as to decrease the speed of the elevator car at a constant deceleration. The speed patterns provided by these speed command voltages are joined together to provide a continuous speed pattern for the elevator car instructed to travel to arrive at the target floor. In order to ensure shock-free operation of the elevator car at the joint between these speed command voltages, the speed command voltages in accordance with respective speed patterns for use in acceleration and deceleration are compared with each other, and the increase in the speed command voltage for acceleration is ceased when the difference therebetween attains a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4060695
Abstract: Voice verfication of individuals is carried out by utilizing the peak value envelope of voice signals. The voice signal is separated into its positive and negative polarity portions and stepped peak value envelope waveforms are developed from each portion. The latter waveforms are quantized and normalized; the latter being carried out to provide waveforms having a total area therebelow which equals a predetermined area. The quantized, normalized envelopes are then compared with recorded envelopes which were previously calculated in the same manner as the former envelopes. Comparison is carried out by calculating the Hamming distance between the new and stored envelopes.

  • Patent number: 4050547
Abstract: An elevator system is provided with a floor controller for controlling the speed of a car. One typical form of floor controller is composed of a synchronizer operated on a reduced scale in synchronism with the movement of an elevator car, an advancer which moves in advance of the synchronizer and stops when it detects a call, and a difference detector which moves in accordance with the relative distance between the synchronizer and the advancer for controlling the running speed of the elevator car in accordance with its own position. When a call is generated, the advancer must be driven in advance of the synchronizer in the direction selected by a direction selector separately provided. For this purpose, an electric motor for driving the advancer is provided, but it need not drive the advancer directly.
