Publication number: 20020127870Abstract: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor device includes the formation of a dielectric film on a substrate having an effective device area surrounded by a peripheral area. A resist pattern exposing part of the dielectric film in the peripheral area is formed, and the dielectric film is etched to reduce the thickness of the exposed part. After the resist pattern has been removed, the dielectric film is planarized by chemical-mechanical polishing. Good planarity is achieved because the etching step removes high parts of the dielectric film from the peripheral area. This method of achieving improved planarity is less expensive than conventional methods employing dummy devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 5, 2002Publication date: September 12, 2002Inventor: Hiroyuki Kawano

Patent number: 6441913Abstract: Image data combined of a first piece of and a second piece of image data and selection data to selectively designate one of the first piece or the second piece of image data is input to an input portion 1. Those data are expanded by an expanding portion 4. A first image-structure recognizing portion 2 (second image-structure recognizing portion 3) recognizes the image structure of the first (second) piece of image data. A first image-structure converting portion 5 (second image-structure converting portion 6) converts the recognized image structure of the first (second) piece of image data to the image structure of an output device 9. Those image data and the selection data are expanded. A combining portion 7 combines the first piece and the second piece of image data having the same image structure as of the output device while successively selecting the first piece or the second piece of image data on a basis of the selection data, and outputs the combined image data to the output device 9.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1998Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsushi Anabuki, Junichi Matsunoshita, Yoshinaru Hibi, Hiroyuki Kawano

Publication number: 20010036316Abstract: The present invention provides an image processor and an image processing method wherein a specific image such as an image of which the printing is prohibited can be recognized at high speed and in addition, with high precision. A rendering command analysis unit passes a rendering object to any of a recognition unit for a raster image, a recognition unit for graphics and a recognition unit for a character according to the type of the rendering object in the rendering command and tries to recognize a specific image. The result of recognition by each recognition unit is passed to a recognition determination unit and it is synthetically determined based upon these results of recognition whether the specific image exists or not. Even if the specific image is formed by dividing into plural types of rendering objects, the specific image can be recognized by such recognition processing.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2001Publication date: November 1, 2001Applicant: Fuji Xerox Co, Ltd.Inventors: Takeshi Kunimasa, Toru Hada, Kenichi Ishida, Masao Morita, Yozo Yamaguchi, Masami Kurata, Hiroshi Sekine, Hiroyuki Kawano, Takanobu Otsubo

Publication number: 20010036315Abstract: Disclosed is an image processing device capable of recognizing a specific image such as an image which is prohibited from printing at high speed and, moreover, without being influenced by an image forming process. A drawing command analysis unit analyzes a drawing command received by a drawing command input unit and sends an analysis result to both an output image data generation unit and a recognition image data generation unit. The output image data generation unit generates output image data adapted to an image formation device in accordance with the drawing command. In parallel with the operation, the recognition image data generation unit generates recognition image data adapted to a recognition unit in accordance with the drawing command. The recognition unit performs a process of recognizing a specific image by using the recognition image data.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 26, 2001Publication date: November 1, 2001Applicant: Fuji Xerox Co, Ltd.Inventors: Takeshi Kunimasa, Toru Hada, Kenichi Ishida, Masao Morita, Yozo Yamaguchi, Masami Kurata, Hiroshi Sekine, Hiroyuki Kawano, Takanobu Otsubo

Publication number: 20010035982Abstract: The present invention provides an image processor that enables recognition of a specific image such as an image of which the printing is prohibited at high speed and in addition, with high precision. Image data input to an image formation device is converted to output image data in a PDL conversion unit and it is determined in a preliminary determination unit whether a certain condition is met or not. Only if the certain condition is met, processing for recognizing the specific image is executed by a recognition unit. If the certain condition is not met, it is considered that the possibility of including the specific image is low and no processing for recognizing the specific image is executed. Therefore, the processing can be sped up by the quantity in which no recognition processing is executed. Also, as recognition processing is executed if the certain condition is met and there is the possibility of including the specific image, the precision of recognizing the specific image is never deteriorated.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2001Publication date: November 1, 2001Applicant: Fuji Xerox Co, Ltd.Inventors: Takanobu Otsubo, Hiroshi Sekine, Hiroyuki Kawano

Patent number: 6219454Abstract: Formatted code data are sequentially input to an input terminal A. A receiving section 11 passes a header portion etc. to a control section 16, and causes selection codes (output to CDS) and text color codes (output to CDC) to be stored sequentially in a storage section 15. When pattern codes are output to CDI and input to an expansion section 12b, the control section 16 reads out the selection codes and the text color codes from the storage section 15 with such timing that pixels at the same position are output simultaneously from image conversion sections 13a-13c, and inputs those codes to expansion sections 12a and 12c. The respective compressed codes are expanded by the expansion sections 12a-12c, converted by the image conversion sections if necessary, and then input to a composing section 14. At this time point, respective data corresponding to pixels are timed with each other, which allows a correct composing process to be executed in the composing section 14.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1998Date of Patent: April 17, 2001Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroyuki Kawano, Junichi Matsunoshita, Yoshiharu Hibi, Tetsushi Anabuki
