  • Patent number: 6210136
Abstract: A scroll compressor having an extended life due to the support structure for the orbiting scroll, even when using a chlorine-free substitution refrigerant. The support structure includes an Oldham ring for supporting an orbiting scroll so as to allow the orbiting scroll more orbiting motion without rotating about a fixing scroll. The Oldham ring is formed of a different material from both a fixing member and the orbiting scroll. Hence, if a boundary lubrication state occurs in mutually sliding parts, only sliding between different materials occurs, and mutual adhesion in the portion of the boundary lubrication state is avoided. As a result, the shortening of the life due to the wearing of the support structure of the orbiting scroll is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6071100
Abstract: A scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll which define therebetween a plurality of compression chambers for compressing fluid introduced via a suction port. The orbiting scroll has a base plate and a shaft portion extending from the base plate toward a crankshaft rotatably supported by a support member. A seal member is disposed between the base plate and the support member to define an inner region and an outer region. The inner region surrounds the shaft portion, while the outer region includes therein a rotation preventing member interposed between the base plate of the orbiting scroll and the support member. The inner region communicates with the outer region via an oil-feed passage formed through the orbiting scroll. The oil-feed passage includes therein a restrictor and opens in the neighborhood of an upper sliding portion between the rotation preventing member and the support member.

  • Patent number: 6053715
Abstract: An orbiting scroll is engaged to and moved orbitally in relation to a fixed scroll at variable speeds. An offset surface is provided in at least one of the wraps of the fixed scroll and/or the orbiting scroll, by which a space S is created in one of the compression chambers formed between the fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll, which is thereby unsealed and opened to the inlet port side. The offset surface has a length from a position in the spiral length which satisfies the required compression ratio of one of the compression chambers in a low speed operation to the end of the spiral. An injection port is positioned such as to open to an unsealed area of this compression chamber, and gas injection shutoff and resumption is controlled through this injection port as appropriate to the situation.

  • Patent number: 5966949
Abstract: To present a compressor for refrigerating machine excellent in lubricating effect, small in wear of contact portions, outstanding in refrigerating performance, and high in reliability, in a compressor using HFC refrigerant not containing chlorine atom. A lubricating oil containing HFC refrigerant, an ester compound oil as principal component, and a phosphoric acid triester as extreme pressure additive is used. Moreover it is composed so that the surface hardness of a vane for composing the contact portions of the compressing mechanism and the surface hardness of the piston may have a difference of 10 or more in Rockwell hardness (HRC). As the extreme pressure additive, also, phosphite, phosphoric acid diester or phosphoric acid monoester can be used. As the principal component of lubricating oil, ether compound oil or carbonate compound oil is also usable.

  • Patent number: 5532051
Abstract: To obtain a high tensile strength steel sheet which has an improved lubricating ability during press working, coating sharpness and defect-formation resistance, and which is useful as an outer plate of automobiles and electrical appliances, by forming uniform recesses and protrusions thereon and regulating the shapes of the recesses and protrusions, the recesses each having a flat portion at their bottom, and the size of the protrusion top faces, the depth between the recesses and the protrusions and the peak-to-peak distance being restricted. The recesses and protrusions formed thereon satisfy the following conditions; oil pools are formed thereon in an area covering 30% of the surface thereof; the top faces of the protrusions each having a size of 10 to 450 .mu.m; the level difference between the recesses and the protrusions being from 2 to 20 .mu.m; the peak-to-peak distance of the protrusions being from 50 to 1000 .mu.m; P and D satisfying the relationship 2.
