    Abstract: [Problem] To provide a process for producing polycrystalline silicon, which is capable of effectively preventing the formation of phosphorus-silicon compounds in the discharge gas discharged from the reaction vessel, and makes it possible to reuse a silane compound contained in the discharge gas. [Means for Solution] The process for producing polycrystalline silicon by feeding a reaction gas containing a silane gas and a hydrogen gas into a reaction vessel equipped with silicon core members erected on the electrodes, heating the silicon core members by flowing an electric current thereto to a temperature at which silicon deposits, forming polycrystalline silicon rods by allowing the formed silicon to deposit on the silicon core members, and discharging the discharge gas after the reaction from the reaction vessel, wherein the discharge gas discharged from the reaction vessel is quenched so that the temperature thereof drops from 800° C. down to 500° C. in not longer than 0.1 second.

    Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a papermaking felt which can be easily engaged in a papermaking machine, wherein the work time for engaging the felt is short, the initial warming-up period until reaching the highest papermaking speed is short, and the felt life is long. This object is achieved by integrating and attaching by dispersion in the batt layer of the felt a polymeric elastomer having high deformability when pressure is applied and good recoverability after pressure is applied. When said polymeric elastomer is in the form of a film and when measured at a room temperature of 20° C. and a relative humidity of 65%, the 100% modulus value of the film is 1 to 100 kg/cm2, the residual strain after 100% elongation is 30% or less, and the attached amount of polymeric elastomers is 0.5 to 20 wt. % of the papermaking press felt weight. Examples of materials include polyurethane elastomers, polyethylene elastomers, styrene-butadiene rubber, silicone rubber, or the like.

When a reaction tube is heated with a high frequency heating coil, the temperature lowering at a lower end portion of the reaction tube is prevented through temperature lowering prevention means which may be an infrared device capable of heating the outer periphery of the lower end portion by means of infrared rays, or which may be a lower end coil that is constituted by a coil near the lower end of the high frequency heating coil and has an increased heating intensity relative to an upper coil.
