  • Patent number: 7538936
Abstract: To induce a targeted non-linear optical effect by a high-peak-power light by using a light pulse from a semiconductor laser without using a light pulse from a large, high-average-power solid laser such as titanium sapphire laser. A semiconductor laser pulse beam with a wavelength of 1550 nm (for example, repeatability of 1 MHz) from a semiconductor laser (laser diode: LD) is efficiently amplified in two stages, front-end and main EDFAs. An optical filter removes a spontaneous emission light component that is noise. An optical filter picks up, from the amplified pulse beam, second harmonic light pulse produced by the non-linearity of an optical device (frequency polarization inversion Mg-added LiNbO3:PPMgLN) to produce a super-continuum light in a 800 nm wavelength region from a photonic crystal fiber (PCF).

  • Publication number: 20060191019
Abstract: An electronic media communication apparatus is provided in which encryption keys and decryption algorithms are provided as circuits concealed in logic programmable devices. When the client requests delivery of electronic media, the server individually encrypts the electronic media and delivers the encrypted electronic media to the client. In the client, an electronic media specific circuit section uses logic circuit data received via a client data communication section to generate an electronic media specific logic circuit. Then, a logic circuit configuration section combines the logic circuit with a terminal specific circuit section uniquely implemented for the client to form an electronic media security circuit section. The original digital content can then be generated by inputting the encrypted electronic media stored in a storage unit to the electronic media security circuit section.

  • Patent number: 6795479
Abstract: An optical pulse train generator is composed of first and second optical resonators and an optical pulse generator. The first optical resonator has therein a first optical path of a first optical path length. The second optical resonator is inserted into the first optical path. The second optical resonator has therein a second optical path of a second optical path length substantially equal to 1/m of the second optical path length, m being a natural number. The optical pulse generator provides the first optical resonator with a first optical pulse train including a component of a first repetition rate tuned corresponding to the first optical path length. The provision of the first optical pulses allows a second optical pulse isolator to be generated in the first optical resonator. The first optical resonator extracts a portion of the second optical pulse train to output an output optical pulse train.
