  • Publication number: 20090135307
Abstract: While presenting on a display apparatus videos of high picture quality obtained from portable video processing apparatuses such as a camera and a cellular, it is possible to communicate with the Internet and/or a home network. A display apparatus includes a first radio communication unit capable of receiving video information by radio from an external video processing apparatus, a second radio communication unit capable of connecting by radio to a network, and a control unit for controlling assignment of connection by radio transmission for each of the first and second radio communication units. The control unit assigns connection of the first radio communication unit with higher priority and controls the assignment of the transmission rate such that the transmission rate between the first radio communication unit and the external video processing apparatus is more than that between the second radio communication unit and the network.

  • Publication number: 20090102972
Abstract: A display apparatus transmits a picture acquisition request for getting picture information to an external image apparatus connected through a predetermined interface to the display apparatus from the external image apparatus at predetermined intervals and gets a plurality of pieces of picture information from the external image apparatus to be displayed. The plurality of pictures may be switched at predetermined intervals, for example, to be displayed, so that the plurality of pictures may be displayed in a so-called slide show manner. A plurality of pictures for thumbnail may be produced from the plurality of pieces of picture information and be arranged together to be displayed in one picture screen of a display device.

  • Publication number: 20090077605
Abstract: The present invention provides technology for improving the convenience of information transmission and connection in the case of transmitting information by connecting together a plurality of pieces of video equipment. To that end, the present invention is one that transmits a baseband video signal and/or a compressed video signal between a first piece of video equipment and a second piece of video equipment by means of a bidirectional interface and is characterized by the fact that the aforementioned bidirectional interface has transmission rates that are asymmetric in the uplink and the downlink, narrowband information is transmitted in the downlink in case broadband information is transmitted in the uplink, and narrowband information is transmitted in the uplink in case broadband information is transmitted in the downlink.

  • Publication number: 20090003803
Abstract: A video signal input-output circuit and a recording-reproduction apparatus in which a digitally compressed video signal input in packet form can be recorded and reproduced efficiently and in stable fashion. In this apparatus, a clock reference is detected from a packet signal containing the clock reference and a digitally compressed video signal, a time stamp for a packet is generated using a clock signal in phase with the clock reference and added to the particular packet, and the packet signals with the time stamp added thereto are recorded closely to each other in a data storage element such as a magnetic recording medium. At playback, the packet interval is output by being restored to the original length on the basis of the time stamp added to the packet in store.

  • Publication number: 20080310826
Abstract: A digital information recording apparatus includes multiple recording circuits for making multiple copies. The apparatus limits the number of copies, however, in accordance with copy information provided within the digital information itself. When the number of copies is reached, if additional copies are to be made, then the source copy is disabled when a new copy is made.

  • Publication number: 20080292286
Abstract: It is a task of this invention to create a novel system (ubiquitous movie) that brings benefits to both a copyright holder of video information such as movies and general consumers who want to enjoy viewing the video information. As for high image quality video information that the copyright holder wants to keep in a copy prohibited condition or the like, a copyright control such as copy prohibited condition is performed as is done with DVDs. In addition to the high image quality video information, a medium is recorded with another piece of video information whose image quality is limited to less than half the resolution of the high image quality video information, at which level the copyright holder can afford to permit the video information to be copied. This low image quality video information is attached with copyright protection information allowing copy, move and download operations as it is recorded in the medium.

  • Patent number: 7386216
Abstract: An interface is realized that can prevent video signals from being copied easily and which uses a luminance/color difference signal transmission scheme with an excellent harmony with a television circuit. In a video transmission using a digital interface, colorimetry information for defining the conversion from the luminance/color difference signal into a primary color signal and video aspect ratio information are transmitted along with the luminance/color difference type video signal. This allows reproduction of video with high quality and high resolution and also realizes a copyright protection which allows only the users authorized by key information to use the content of the video. With this transmission scheme, it is possible to provide a transmitting apparatus, a receiving apparatus and an interface which highly harmonize with a rationalized television-based circuit.

  • Patent number: 7343012
Abstract: In transmission of stream data protected for copyright on a bus, transcription of stream data once recorded on a recording apparatus to a medium of another recording apparatus is realized. Authentication is carried out between a stream recording and playback apparatus and another recording apparatus to interchange a key for data scramble. By using this key, data is added with copy control information used when the data is recorded initially and thereafter the data is transmitted. After the data has been recorded on the recording apparatus, the data is deleted from an original recording medium. During transmission of the data, authentication from a different apparatus is rejected to prevent a plurality of copies from being made.

  • Patent number: 7263723
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus that, when a copying is limited as “Copy One Generation”, prevent the copying from being made into infinite number of storage media without limitation, and thereby protect the profit of a copyright holder concerned. In the present invention, when outputting digital information whose copying is limited to external appliances connected to plural outputting circuits (315A, 315B, or 72A to 72D), the total number of external appliances to which the digital information is to be outputted is limited within a predetermined constant. In particular, a control circuit (311, or 73) limits the number in which to perform authentications of the external appliances connected to the plural outputting circuits. This makes it possible to limit, within the predetermined constant, the total number of the external appliances to which the digital information is to be outputted.
