  • Publication number: 20150334256
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique for allowing proper classification information to be provided to an edited image. When it is determined that the editing is cropping, a system controller cuts a decompressed image down to a desired size using an image processor and performs face detection on a crop image. The system controller generates a header for image data of an edited image. When the setting of automatically providing classification information is “ON”, classification information is automatically provided based on the detected face information.

  • Publication number: 20150192585
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to provide an early mastitis detection method that can detect mastitis easily and quickly when compared to the prior methods and also a biomarker to be used with the method. The object can be solved by a method of examining a mammary gland disease by using the level of cyclophilin A in a mammary gland or in milk as indicator. More specifically, the object can be a method of examining a mammary gland disease comprising steps (1) and (2) listed below; (1) a step of detecting cyclophilin A in the milk collected from an udder or an udder quarter of a subject and thereby determining the cyclophilin A level in the milk; and (2) a step of determining the onset of a mammary gland disease or the possibility of onset of a mammary gland disease in the udder or the udder quarter of the subject on the basis of the cyclophilin A level in the milk.

  • Publication number: 20150186375
Abstract: An image reproducing apparatus that is capable of easily reproducing image data intended for viewing. A read-out unit reads out a plurality of images recorded in a recording medium. A control unit determines target images among the plurality of images based on a reference date. The control unit specifies a shooting date on which a predetermined number or greater number of images were taken around the reference date and determines images taken on the specified shooting date as the target images.

  • Patent number: 9066099
Abstract: A method for selecting a picture prediction mode from a candidate pool of picture prediction modes for video compression takes advantage of similarity in implementation between SKIP and DIRECT modes and one other inter-picture prediction modes, namely, the 16×16 partition mode. The SKIP/DIRECT modes are considered if and only if the final prediction information of the 16×16 partition mode, including motion vector, reference picture index, and prediction direction, is the same as that of the respective SKIP and/or DIRECT modes. The same motion prediction, reference picture index and prediction direction are used for the 16×16 partition mode and the SKIP/DIRECT modes, and therefore, the same interpolation scheme can be used for both SKIP/DIRECT and 16×16 partition modes.

  • Patent number: 9015361
Abstract: An electronic device using a removable recording medium detects the operational mode supported by the recording medium when the attached recording medium has a communication function, and displays a menu with an item corresponding to the operational mode. When the item corresponding to the operational mode is selected from the menu, the electronic device communicates with an external device using the communication protocol corresponding to the selected item. When a recording medium with a communication function is attached, the electronic device enables commanding wireless communication with a target device with a simple operation and without knowing what communication protocol is used.

  • Patent number: 8771248
Abstract: It is intended to provide a tampon wherein a string-shaped member is bonded to a cylindrical absorbent in the state of not being exposed on the absorbent surface. A tampon comprising an absorbent (2), which is obtained by molding a sheet member into a cylindrical shape, and a string-shaped member (4) which is bonded to the absorbent (2) and extends from one end of the absorbent (2). The string-shaped member (4) has a first string part which is bonded along the first direction of one face of the sheet member constituting the absorbent (2) and a second string part which extends from the sheet member. A first folding part is formed in one side of the second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction of the first string member, while a second folding part is formed in the other side of the second direction.

  • Publication number: 20140185549
Abstract: Information on one or more networks in which a communication apparatus has participated before and information on one or more external apparatuses to which the communication apparatus has been connected before are held. Information on a first network previously formed by the communication device and information on a second network previously formed by an external access point are held such that the information on the first network and the information on the second network are identifiable. If it is judged that there is not a network corresponding to the held information on the second network, it is determined to use a network based on the held information on the first network.

  • Patent number: 8649436
Abstract: The approach of the present invention is to take advantage of similarity in implementation between SKIP and DIRECT modes and one other inter-picture prediction modes, namely, the 16×16 partition mode. The SKIP/DIRECT modes are classified into two groups, one involving inter-picture prediction in one temporal direction in which prediction is chosen from either past or future recon pictures, and the other involving prediction in two temporal directions in which prediction is constructed as a superposition of both past and future recon pictures. The first group requires interpolation for only one direction, whereas the latter requires interpolation for both directions, thus requiring roughly twice as much data processing power than the first group. The 16×16 partition mode also allows both prediction schemes, either past or future, or a superposition of past and future. The SKIP/DIRECT and 16×16 partition modes all apply the same motion vector on the entire block unit.

  • Patent number: 8547639
Abstract: An optical element includes a substrate including protruding structures on the surface and a hard coat layer formed on the substrate. An irregular shape is formed by the structures. An irregular shape resembling the irregular shape of the substrate is formed on a surface of the hard coat layer and is smoother than the that of the substrate. The size of bottoms of the structures changes at random within the range of the minimum distance Rm to the maximum distance RM (Rm: minimum value of the shortest distance from the center of gravity of the bottom of the structure to the rim of the bottom, RM: maximum value of the longest distance from the center of gravity of the bottom of the structure to the rim of the bottom). Neighboring structures have bottoms in contact or substantially in contact with one another. Rm and RM satisfy Rm/RM?0.9.
