  • Patent number: 6442015
Abstract: An electrochemical capacitor wherein electrode members include polarizing electrodes, whose main ingredient is a carbon material having partially oxidized graphite-like microcrystalline carbon, separators, and collectors is immersed in a organic electrolytic solution, the polarizing electrodes expanding on charging and contracting on discharging. Ions with ionic radii of 0.33 nm or less are used as the electrolyte cations of the organic electrolytic solution. The cell container holding electrode members and the electrolytic solution is provided with stress relaxing structure. Either collectors or separators are elastomers. The separators are sponge-like porous insulator with continuous pores.

  • Patent number: 6384509
Abstract: A flexible area 2 is joined at one end via a thermal insulation area 7 to a semiconductor substrate 3 which becomes a frame and at an opposite end to a moving element 5. The thermal insulation area 7 is made of a thermal insulation material a resin such as polyimide or a fluoridated resin. The flexible area 2 is made up of a thin portion 2S and a thin film 2M different in thermal expansion coefficient. When a diffused resistor 6 formed on the surface of the thin portion 2S is heated, the flexible area 2 is displaced because of the thermal expansion difference between the thin portion 2S and the thin film 2M, and the moving element 5 is displayed with respect to the semiconductor substrate 3.

  • Publication number: 20020036678
Abstract: A cavity plate is constructed by laminating, using an adhesive, a plurality of thin plates with ink passages, such as pressure chambers and through holes. In the periphery of the ink passages, escape grooves and holes communicating with the escape grooves are formed such that the remaining adhesive is guided into the escape grooves without entering the ink passages and that air trapped in the adhesive is discharged through the escape holes to the outside. Accordingly, a plurality of thin plates are firmly bonded to each other by a layer of adhesive, while the ink passages remain intact to allow a good flow of ink.

  • Publication number: 20020003675
Abstract: A magnetic storage apparatus is provided with unit for identifying the frequency of overwriting storage at the time of overwriting in the same data sector, and depending on the frequency of overwriting, a code for coding or a scrambler initial value is changed at every overwrite operation. The modulation code has the same code rate so that a data length does not change at every write operation. A number corresponding to the present modulation code of each data sector is stored on a memory, and the aforesaid number is also written as an additional bit in the data sector on a medium. Data are read only when the modulation coding number on the memory and the modulation coding number on the medium, which are compared, agree with each other. If they do not agree, offset reading is performed until they agree, and then the read operation is performed.

  • Patent number: 6219529
Abstract: In order to eliminate the unnecessary power consumption caused by the increase in frequency associated with wireless communication systems using electromagnetic induction techniques, the wireless communication system of the present invention modulates and transmits a magnetic field in accordance with information. A close-range receiver is provided with an amorphous magnetic impedance element having an impedance which varies in accordance with the modulated characteristic of the magnetic field. Use of an amorphous magnetic impedance element in the receiver results in a reduction in power and increase in sensitivity of the device.

  • Patent number: 6050678
Abstract: The value C defined between the width W1 of the ink chamber 2 and the width W2 of the piezoelectric element portion 7 disposed on the vibrating sheet 5, which is obtained based on an equation; C=(W1-W2)/(2.times.W2), is set in a range of 0.5 to 0.8. This value C=(W1-W2)/(2.times.W2) is an index value of an allowable range of displacement amount of the piezoelectric element portion 7, in which the ink ejecting speed is not influenced by the displacement when the piezoelectric element portion 7 is arranged on the vibrating sheet 5 with the displacement from a center of an upper plane of the ink chamber 2.
