Patent number: 8805923Abstract: A method for updating contents of a Digital Media Server (DMS) in a digital living network alliance system (DLNA) is disclosed. An update process is performed through a periodic update event in a Digital Media Player (DMP) that receives all content information of the DMS. Upon determining that information loss has occurred in the update process, the DMP sends to the DMS a request for information about a list of items possessed by the DMS. The DMP receives the requested information about the list of items and compares the received information about the list of items with information about pre-stored items to obtain a comparison result. When a difference occurs as the comparison result, all information about contents of the DMS is obtained through a browse action. When the difference does not occur as the comparison result, the update process is continuously performed.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2006Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Chul-seung Kim, Ho-Chul Shin, Woo-Jun Choi, Seung-Mi Kang, Young-Kyu Bae, Young-Seop Han, Yun-Je Oh

Patent number: 8154819Abstract: The flying heights of magnetic heads of a disk drive are set using an FOD (flying on demand) method in a bank mode. A first signal for adjusting the flying height of a magnetic head is issued to each magnetic head and the value of the first signal is scaled by scale values set for the magnetic heads, respectively, with one of the scale values differing from the others. The value of the first signal is changed until the magnetic head associated with the scale value different from the others touches down. A flying height for the magnetic head which touched down is determined based on the value of the first signal at the time of touch-down. The process is repeated, however with a different bank of scale values each time and set in such a way as to cause the sequential touch-down of the remaining magnetic heads, and determinations of flying heights for the magnetic heads.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2010Date of Patent: April 10, 2012Assignee: Seagate Technology InternationalInventors: Ho-chul Shin, Da-woon Chung
