Abstract: A method for providing a multimedia messaging service according to the present invention includes the steps of: collecting multimedia contents accessible through a network in response to a request for preparing a multimedia message, generating the multimedia message including multimedia file access information by selecting a multimedia file from the collected multimedia contents, converting the multimedia message to a web page, transmitting the web page as an Internet mail, extracting the multimedia file access information from the web page included in the mail after receiving the mail, accessing a multimedia file by using the multimedia file access information and executing the multimedia file.

Abstract: A method and system for managing schedule information using a digital living network alliance (DLNA) network are disclosed. The method includes receiving a schedule memo stored in a portable terminal via a DLNA network, analyzing the schedule memo and creating a query for searching for supplementary information related to the schedule memo, transmitting the created query to a Web server, receiving, in reply to the query, a Web search result from the Web server, generating detailed schedule information using the Web search result and transmitting the detailed schedule information to the portable terminal via the DLNA network.

Abstract: A method of providing RSS content by a DMS to devices in a DLNA network, and more particularly, a method, system, computer program product and device is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of converting RSS content data to an image, storing the image, and sharing the image with devices (e.g., DMP, DMR) in the DLNA network when requested. The method of providing RSS content by a DMS to devices in a DLNA network includes receiving RSS content data, parsing the RSS content data, and composing the parsed data in a page, converting the composed page to an image and storing the converted image, registering an RSS image list, periodically monitoring the registered result, and informing the devices in the DLNA network of the result and searching for, and providing, a corresponding RSS content image when a request for using the stored RSS content image is received from the devices in the DLNA network.

Abstract: A content management system entails analyzing similarity of the contents distributed among at least one network element (e.g., contents server) and managing the contents on the basis of the analysis result. The content management server analyzing similarities of content files and providing the similarities information includes a communication unit that collects content information from at least one content server stored the content files and the content information corresponding to the content files; a digital content management (DCM) control unit which analyzes similarities of the content files received from the content server; a storage which stores information on the similarities analyzed by the DCM control unit; a content information comparison unit which detects the content information in response to a similar content file request transmitted from a client on the basis of the similarities information.

Abstract: A method for sharing content using a Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) network is disclosed. The method includes the steps of creating a DLNA VPN (Virtual Private Network) between an inside-home DLNA network and at least one outside-home DLNA device, and delivering content from an inside-home DLNA device connected to the inside-home DLNA network to an outside-home DLNA device contained in the DLNA VPN in response to a request for content from the outside-home DLNA device. The method further allows continuous sharing of content, even if IP addresses of devices connected to the DLNA VPN are changed, by managing dynamic IP addresses of the devices connected to the DLNA VPN using an external network management server. Thus, the method allows outside-home DLNA devices to freely share content using a DLNA network. The method also allows various contents to be processed on a mobile terminal regardless of a storage space and processing capability of the mobile terminal.

Abstract: A Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) network that stores, in real time, data, such as motion pictures, still images, audio sounds, etc., collected from outside of the home into a storage device located, preferably, in the home. In particular, a data collecting device requests a device search through the home network, receiving an acknowledgement from a storage device, requests device information from the storage device, receives the device information from the storage device, configures a storage path of the data collecting device using the device information, and stores data it collects into the storage device using the storage path. It is accordingly possible to allow the user to conveniently play back the data collected by the handheld device using the household appliances without additional manipulation for transferring the collected data, despite the limited storage capacity of the handheld device.

Abstract: A method for providing a user interface configured using three frames for a Digital Media Player (DMP) in a Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) system. Each of all source, renderer, and menu items of the DLNA system is set to one axis of a set of axes. Two predetermined axes of the set of axes and a contents list are selected according to selection by a DMP user of an operation to be performed within the DLNA system. A user interface of the DMP is configured using two frames for displaying the two predetermined axes and one frame for displaying the contents list.

Abstract: A method for updating contents of a Digital Media Server (DMS) in a digital living network alliance system (DLNA) is dislcosed. An update process is performed through a periodic update event in a Digital Media Player (DMP) that receives all content information of the DMS. Upon determining that information loss has occurred in the update process, the DMP sends to the DMS a request for information about a list of items possessed by the DMS. The DMP receives the requested information about the list of items and compares the received information about the list of items with information about pre-stored items to obtain a comparison result. When a difference occurs as the comparison result, all information about contents of the DMS is obtained through a browse action. When the difference does not occur as the comparison result, the update process is continuously performed.

Abstract: A system and method for Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) system is disclosed that provides data service of a digital broadcast. The DLNA system includes a digital media server for providing information about a broadcast A/V and data so as to handle a request for the data when a digital broadcast is requested, the digital media server receiving the digital broadcast and dividing the received digital broadcast into a broadcast A/V part and a data part so as to download the broadcast A/V part and the data part, respectively, and a digital media player for requesting the digital media server to transmit information about the digital broadcast, and to transmit data after receiving information about the broadcast A/V part and the data part from the digital media server, and for receiving and carrying out the requested data.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for preventing bus reset when a node is removed in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1394 network. The apparatus includes a tone signal generator for generating a tone signal substantially identical to a tone signal generated by a second node and transferring the generated tone signal to a first node and a switch for blocking the tone signal generated by the tone signal generator when the second node is connected to the network, and transferring the tone signal generated by the tone signal generator to the first node when removal of the second node is detected.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for searching a handwritten memo, which is input by a user using a digital pen interface, for a word corresponding to the user's query. The apparatus includes a preprocessing unit which removes unnecessary portions from digital ink data of an input query phrase and an input memo to reduce an information amount, a feature extraction unit which extracts a feature vector from the digital ink data having the reduced information amount, and a query searching unit which searches the memo for a portion matched with the query phrase in units of segments. Therefore, an accurate result can be obtained quickly when an existing memo or document is searched for desired content by inputting a query phrase using a digital pen.

Abstract: Internet Protocol (IP) addresses are generated based on a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to manage an Internet Protocol address and an identifier (ID) of a network unit seeking access to a network using the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol to allow the network unit to have easy access to an external server providing a variety of services (e.g., a home network service). A Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol server is adapted to dynamically assign the Internet Protocol address when the network unit seeks access to the network, the network unit being connected to an external Internet network using the Internet Protocol address assigned dynamically from the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol server. A network unit management server is adapted to manage information on the Internet Protocol address assigned by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol server and the identifier of the network unit corresponding to the Internet Protocol address.

Abstract: A home robot controlled by a home server. When a user gives a voice command to the home robot, the home robot A/D converts the voice command and transmits the voice command to the home server. The home server interprets the voice command, generates a response control signal to the command, and by wireless transmission, transmits the response control signal to the home robot. A control unit in the home robot receives the response control signal, outputs the response control signal as one or more of a digital voice signal, motion control signal and an image signal. The digital voice signal is converted to an analog signal for reproduction through a speaker. A driving unit moves body components of the home robot in response to one or more of the motion control signals from the control unit. A display unit displays an image in response to the image signal.

Abstract: In a fast, convenient voice dialing apparatus and method, users efficiently and conveniently apply a telephone number digit recognition engine to number dialing. By voicing only a subset of a telephone number among telephone numbers pre-registered in a telephone number directory, the success rate of number dialing and convenience of users increases. The voice dialing apparatus includes a fast voice dial mode setting unit, a contracted number database, a contracted number detection unit, and a telephone number connection unit. Since a user only needs to voice a subset of a telephone number stored in a telephone number directory, long telephone numbers are dialed with better recognition performance at an improved speed. Since telephone numbers that users try to call are pre-stored in a telephone number directory, the number of combinable numbers equals the number of lists registered in the telephone number directory, and recognition speed and performance are improved.
