  • Patent number: 7664786
Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing application context is provided. A first one of a plurality of terminals, each including at least one application, collects and transmits context information of the application to a migration server so that it is stored and managed in the migration server. The migration server transmits the stored and managed context information to a second terminal corresponding to the first terminal in response to a request of the second terminal. The second terminal restores context based on the context information received from the migration server. This can reproduce the same application and desktop environments as those previously set to be suitable for each work situation, thereby increasing user convenience.

  • Publication number: 20090257365
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of distributing files over a network, which can attain a proper balance of transfer rates of active spanning trees used between a transmitting node and a receiving node and minimize the time taken for transferring a large file in a P2P (Peer-to-Peer) environment by forming an optimal set of distribution trees with reference to the link costs between the transmitting node and the receiving node and distributing chunk files through the optimal set of distribution trees. The method comprises the steps of: forming a set of spanning trees between a transmitting node and a receiving node and forming a minimum cost tree group by the sum of the link costs of links constituting each of the spanning trees; adjusting the transfer rate of each spanning tree belonging to the minimum cost tree group in accordance with the link cost of each spanning tree belonging to the minimum cost tree group; and transferring chunk files through the spanning trees whose transfer rate is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20090158394
Abstract: Provided are a super peer based P2P network system and a peer authentication method thereof. The authentication method includes a first authentication process and a second authentication process. In the first authentication process, a user and a peer which want to use a P2P network are verified by submitting authentication information and a public key infrastructure (PKI) certificate, and receive the permission of connection. In the second authentication process, a user and a peer requesting the use of a specific service are authenticated by using an authentication ticket and a service access-permitted time is limited in order to reinforcing the security of the specific service, which is searched in the P2P network and provided by the peer. Accordingly, the service providers can verify users more securely and limit the service available time of each user with respect to a specific service provided by the peer by using the lifetime of the ticket.

  • Publication number: 20090158041
Abstract: A method of creating a security group over a Peer-To-Peer (P2P) network is disclosed. An invitee terminal attaches a public key to a peer advertisement in which its own identification information is encrypted using its own private key, and then sends a resulting peer advertisement over the P2P network. An inviter terminal, which has found the peer advertisement, encrypts a group advertisement, including group information about the security group, using public keys of the corresponding invitee terminal, and then sends a resulting group advertisement to the invitee terminal desired to be invited to the security group. The invitee terminal decrypts the group advertisement using its own private key, and participates in the security group using the group information.

Abstract: A peer-to-peer service method and system are provided. The peer-to-peer service method include advertising E-mail address information and service and sharing resource information through a peer-to-peer network at peers, determining whether a peer requesting a service and a peer providing the service are in online state or in offline state on the peer-to-peer network, and providing a peer-to-peer service through an E-mail server when the peer requesting the service or the peer providing the service is in offline state. The peer-to-peer service system and method using an E-mail service are capable of providing a variety of P2P services (e.g., a message exchange, a file exchange, a remote control, etc.) to peers, which are in online state or temporarily in offline state, by using the E-mail in the P2P network environment which manages the connection information of the peers joined to the corresponding service or the indexes of the sharing resources.
