  • Patent number: 6665069
Abstract: System and method for simultaneously providing a wavelength spectral distribution and a temporal distribution of an incident light beam. The light beam is received at a wavelength spectral distribution module and is separated into light beam segments corresponding to at least two different wavelengths in a first selected direction transverse to beam propagation direction. The light beam is also received at a temporal distribution module, and segments of the light beam are distributed corresponding to at least two different times at which light in the beam was produced, in a second selected direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The temporal distribution module may include a rotating segmented mirror.

  • Publication number: 20020196960
Abstract: A headset is disclosed having a headband configuration that distributes the compression forces on the user's head to provide firm placement without causing discomfort to the user. The headband is preferably integrally formed with a soft overmold molded along a portion of its interface with the user's head. The headband terminates in first and second ends. Either or both ends may terminate in a flared temple pad for further distribution of compression forces or may terminate in an earphone. A boom is pivotally connected to either a temple pad or an earphone and is optionally conformable for positioning towards the wearer's mouth. The boom terminates in a microphone.

  • Patent number: 6208523
Abstract: A processor retention assembly for housing multiple processor modules is herein disclosed. The processor retention assembly has a pair of lock levers, positioned on opposite sides of the processor module, that securely fastens each processor module to a connector on a circuit board and to the processor retention assembly. The lock levers ensure that the processor module is securely fastened to the connector and to the processor retention assembly so that the processor module and the circuit board are not damaged during mechanical shock and vibration. In addition, the lock levers eliminate the need for the processor module to contain any type of lock mechanism thereby allowing the processor retention assembly to house various types of devices, including those with lock mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 5906497
Abstract: A processor retention frame and incorporated processor extraction handle is described herein. The frame is fabricated from a single piece of sheet metal, holds two processor cards securely, and is easily mounted on the main system board. The extractor handle allows the easy removal of processor cards from the main system board and frame without exerting excessive force on the main system board or the processor board.

  • Patent number: 5687865
Abstract: Two cap modifications are disclosed for use on water bottles to be installed in water dispensers. A central conical well in the top of the cap is formed with a scoreline. When the bottle is lowered into a dispenser, a probe of the dispenser enters the well and causes it to split along the scoreline. When the bottle is raised, the well substantially returns to initial condition, inhibiting spillage of any liquid remaining in the bottle.

  • Patent number: 5291838
Abstract: A packaging system for components of a computing system includes an external, modularized, ecto-skeletal support frame for supporting a plurality of uniformly, horizontally dimensioned cabinets in stacked arrangement. The support frame is formed from a plurality of support shelves that form the support platforms for the cabinets. Separating and support shelves are support sleeves, that can be of variable lengths in order to accommodate the varying vertical dimensions of the cabinets held by the support frame.

  • Patent number: 4885436
Abstract: A removable power supply interlock and extraction mechanism (2) includes a switch guard (16), mounted to the front panel (14) of a module (4), movable between a safe position when the power switch (12) is off to keep it off, and a working position, at which the switch can be freely turned on and off. When the module is being inserted into an electrical unit (16), an actuator (34), mounted to the front panel, is rotated in its insertion rotary direction (50) so the switch guard moves from its safe to its working position; simultaneously a latching element (62) on the actuator engages a latching surface (60) on the unit so to drive the module into the unit until the connectors on the module and unit are fully connected. To remove the module, the power switch is first turned off.
