  • Publication number: 20090296418
Abstract: A side-loading LED module for a rear combination lamp is disclosed. One or more LEDs are mounted on a distal side of a printed circuit board, which also includes the circuitry that drives the one or more LEDs. The circuit board and a thermal pad are screwed/riveted to a heat sink, then the heat sink is mounted to a lateral face of a housing. The LEDs emit diverging light laterally inside the housing. One face of the housing is a faceted parabolic reflector, which receives the diverging light from the LEDs and reflects a collimated beam longitudinally to the front of the housing, where it passes through a clear cover and exits the lamp. The facets on the parabolic reflector angularly deviate portions of the reflected beam, so that the reflected light is collimated, and is angularly broader than a single collimated beam.

  • Publication number: 20090296416
Abstract: A rear-loading LED module for a rear combination lamp is disclosed. One or more LEDs are mounted on a printed circuit board that mechanically holds them at the focus of a faceted, parabolic reflector. Light from the LEDs diverges transversely and horizontally, and is collimated by the reflector, and the reflected collimated light is directed in a generally longitudinal direction out of the rear combination lamp, toward the viewer. The LED module itself is generally longitudinally oriented, and is insertable longitudinally into the interior of the reflector from a hole at the vertex of the reflector. The printed circuit board, an optional thermal pad adjacent to the printed circuit board, and a thermally conductive layer adjacent to the optional thermal pad are all generally planar layers, are all generally parallel to each other, and may optionally all have the same footprint. Together, the printed circuit board, the thermal pad and the thermally conductive layer may all form a generally planar ledge.

  • Publication number: 20090185389
Abstract: A light with one or more LEDs directing light in a first direction. The light has first and second over-lying light guides receiving light from the LEDs. The light guides extend in the first direction X. Plural LEDs can be used and they may direct light from either or both ends of the light guides. The light guides can be clear if the LEDs emit colored light, or colored if the LED emits white light. A plurality of first light deflectors is associated with the first light guide and a plurality of second light deflectors is associated with the second light guide for directing the light that has been emitted from the light source along the first direction X in a second, output direction Y, the first light deflectors being offset from the second light deflectors to evenly distribute output light.

  • Patent number: 7564281
Abstract: A wide-locking range phase locked loop circuit includes a decision unit and a closed loop connection comprising a phase frequency detector, a charge pump, a loop filter, a voltage controlled oscillator, and a multi-modulus divider. The decision unit receives a phase difference signal outputted from phase frequency detector and the control voltage outputted from the loop filter and determines to select a specific divisor form the plurality of divisors provided by the multi-modulus divider if the phase difference signal indicates an unlocked state and the control voltage is not within a standard voltage operation range.

  • Patent number: 7525015
Abstract: Genes can be introduced into plants that confer desirable traits such as, drought and stress tolerance, insect and pest resistance, as well as environmental qualities such as phyto-remediation. However, possibility for transgene escape to wild and non-transformed species raises commercial and ecological concerns. Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for generating sterile plants for the prevention of transgene escape.

  • Publication number: 20090037695
Abstract: A data fetch circuit and a method thereof are provided. A multi-phase clock signal is generated according to an input clock, and an input data is over-sampled according to the multi-phase clock signal in order to detect transition points of the input data. One of reference phases of the multi-phase clock signal is selected according to the detected transition point for fetching the input data and obtaining enough setup/hold time margin. Accordingly, appropriate data fetch points is found without complicated negative feed-back mechanism. Besides, a periodical monitoring mechanism may be further adopted for improving the accuracy of data fetch.

  • Patent number: 6570315
Abstract: A field ion display device comprises a field ion emission plate, a microchannel plate and a fluorescent display plate, said plates being parallel to each other, with gaps there between, and being peripherally sealed with a thin gas filled inside. The device is addressed by X-Y encoding. When a signal is applied to an addressed point, positive ions are emitted from the corresponding point on the emission plate based on the signal strength, pass through the microchannel holes, impinge on the wall of the holes, so that the emission of the multifold secondary electrons is multiplied. Said secondary electrons are accelerated by the accelerating electrode, converted into a strong electron flow, extracted from the other side of the holes, again accelerated by the screen electrode, and finally bombard a corresponding pixel on the screen, thereby forming an image. The image has the advantage of good quality, high efficiency and low cost.
