  • Patent number: 6808238
Abstract: The present invention relates to an operating unit for an electrohydraulic braking system of the ‘brake-by-wire’ type, which is designed as a tandem master cylinder having a first and a second piston biased by each one resetting spring in opposition to the actuating direction. The first pressure chamber of the tandem master cylinder is connected to a hydraulic chamber defined by a simulator element. The simulator element also defines a simulator chamber accommodating a simulator spring and connected to a pressure fluid supply reservoir. A valve device is provided which closes or opens the hydraulic connection between the simulator chamber and the pressure fluid supply reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6775979
Abstract: The present invention relates to an actuation device for an electrohydraulic brake system of the ‘brake-by-wire’ type which is configured as a tandem master cylinder with a first and a second piston that are respectively biased by a resetting spring in opposition to the actuating direction. The resetting spring associated with the first piston is additionally used as a travel simulator spring which determines the pedal characteristics, and a valve device is provided which closes or opens a hydraulic connection between a pressure chamber accommodating the travel simulator spring and a pressure fluid supply reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6516701
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake force booster for automotive vehicles which includes a booster housing whose interior space is subdivided by a movable wall into a working chamber and a vacuum chamber, and a control housing which carries the movable wall and in which a control valve is arranged for controlling a pressure differential that acts upon the movable wall, the said control valve being operable by an operating rod by way of a valve piston and by an electromagnet. According to the present invention, the brake force booster is characterized in that the electromagnet is actuatable in dependence on the relative displacement between the valve piston and the control housing detected by a sensor. This arrangement makes possible a very simple control of a brake assist function because the signal of the sensor can be used both for the activation and the deactivation of the electromagnet.

  • Patent number: 6367364
Abstract: The present invention relates to a brake force booster for automotive vehicles with a booster housing having its interior space subdivided by a movable wall into a vacuum chamber and a working chamber, and with a control valve which controls a pressure differential that acts upon the movable wall and is accommodated in a control housing that carries the movable wall, the said control valve being comprised of at least two concentrically arranged sealing seats and a valve member which defines in the control housing a pneumatic chamber that can be acted upon by the pneumatic pressure that prevails in the working chamber wherein the valve member includes at least two sealing lips of different diameters which define the pneumatic chamber in the control housing, and that the effective pneumatic surface of the chamber which is influenced by the difference in diameters is generally in conformity with the pneumatic surface defined between the two sealing seats.

  • Patent number: 6318815
Abstract: A braking pressure boosting device is suggested, in particular for automotive vehicles, which includes a boost sensor for sensing or identifying the point of maximum boosting of the braking pressure boosting device. By using the boost sensor, ad signal is generated reporting the point of maximum boosting. This invention permits the manufacture of high-performance braking force boosting devices requiring minimal space and opens up new potential for economizing.

  • Patent number: 6209967
Abstract: A brake power booster for automotive vehicles includes a control valve that is operable by an electromagnet irrespective of an actuating rod displacing a valve piston, the electromagnet actuating a third sealing seat which permits ventilation of the working chamber. The valve member of the control valve has passages which allow a pneumatic pressure compensation. To eliminate a pneumatic force component which counteracts the force generated by the electromagnet, the passages are provided radially outside the area delimited by the electromagnetically operable sealing seat on the sealing surface of the valve member.

  • Patent number: 5046075
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for adapting a locally-generated clock having an arbitrary phase relation to a plesiochronous data signal in which further clocks are derived from the clock via a delay line chain in such a fashion that a clock sequence having identical phase spacings is produced. These clocks are clocked by the data signal in edge-triggered D-flip-flops. The difference between the logical states of the Q outputs of two neighboring D-flip-flops provides a preselection of the best-adapted clock. Proceeding from the Q outputs and Q outputs of the D-flip-flops and the non-inverting and inverting outputs of a plurality of amplifiers, a gate arrangement connects an optimally-adapted clock to a clock output. A data signal is delayed in a delay unit by the time that the selection of the optimally-adapted clock requires. This then clocks the delayed data signal in an edge-triggered D-flip-flop.

  • Patent number: 4274061
Abstract: A reference voltage source, in particular for amplifier circuits, includes a pair of transistors having their bases connected together, one of the transistors being further connected as a diode and the other being operated normally. In the collector circuit of the transistors, a current mirror circuit is connected which includes a further transistor which is connected in series through an additional transistor to a reference potential. The base of the additional transistor is connected with emitter resistors in the emitter circuit of the first-mentioned transistors and the reference voltage is taken off at the connection between the serially connected further and additional transistors. Additional current mirror circuits may be employed for providing a symmetrical operation of the amplifier circuit supplied by the reference voltage source.
