Abstract: A user equipment (UE) avoids entering a limited service state when the UE attempts to switch from a first radio access technology (RAT) to a second RAT when the UE experiences a communication service outage with respect to the second RAT. In one instance, the UE attempts to access the second radio access technology (RAT) from a first RAT. The first RAT may be in a service outage or have weak coverage. The UE does not reach a maximum number of network access failures in the second RAT. Rather, the UE attempts to acquire a third RAT before reaching the maximum number of retries. The third RAT may be the same as the first RAT or may be a different RAT altogether.

Abstract: A virtualized computing system supports the execution of a plurality of virtual machines, where each virtual machine supports the execution of applications therein. Each application executes within a container that isolates the application executing therein from other processes executing on the computing system. A hierarchy of virtual machine templates is created by instantiating a parent virtual machine template, the parent virtual machine template having a. guest operating system and a container. An application to be run in a container is determined, and, in response, the parent virtual machine template is forked to create a child virtual machine template, where the child virtual machine template includes a replica of the container, and where the guest operating system of the parent virtual machine template overlaps in memory with a guest operating system of the child virtual machine template. The application is then installed in the replica of the container.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) improves wireless communication when the UE returns or attempts to return to a first radio access technology (RAT) from a second RAT after a circuit switched fall back (CSFB) call failure due to a radio resource control (RRC) connection failure. In one instance, the UE successfully redirects to the second RAT from a first RAT. The UE then determines that the circuit switched fall back call on the second RAT failed. In response to the determination of the failure, the UE waits for a predetermined amount of time for second RAT re-paging or a user re-initiating the circuit switched call. The UE then performs fast return to the first RAT after the predetermined amount of time expires or in response to a user input.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for wireless inductive power transfer are described herein. One implementation may include an apparatus for wireless inductive power transfer. The apparatus comprises a primary resonator configured to wirelessly transfer power to a secondary resonator coupled to a load of a wireless power receiver. The apparatus comprises a coupling circuit configured to couple energy from a source power supply to the primary resonator. The apparatus comprises a controller configured to coordinate an adjustment of a first amount of coupling between the source power supply and the primary resonator, via the coupling circuit, with an adjustment of a second amount of coupling between the secondary resonator and the load of the wireless power receiver. The coupling circuit comprises a first coupling loop comprising a plurality of segments, each configured to be selectively electrically connected to the source power supply, the first coupling loop electrically isolated from the primary resonator.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes establishing a session to a remote desktop determined for a user of a client device. The session allows the client device to remotely access the remote desktop to have one or more services performed for the user of the client device using resources of the remote desktop. The client device sends a request for a service in the one or more services to be performed on the remote desktop in the session and receives a result set determined from the service being performed by the remote desktop. A native viewer for the client device is determined based on a type of the result set. The native viewer is then invoked to display the result set.

Abstract: Techniques for converting desktop applications into cloud services are provided. In one embodiment, a server system can receive a representation of an application that has been extracted from an installation of the application on an end-user computing device. The representation can include a collection of files and configuration information associated with the application. The server system can then store the representation of the application in a server-side repository for deployment as a cloud service.

Abstract: In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless power transmission comprises a plurality of coils and a controller. The controller is configured to sequentially energize each coil of the plurality of coils to produce a magnetic field. The controller is configured to select a subset of the plurality of coils based on a measure of coupling between each coil of the subset of the plurality of coils and at least one receiver coil of a chargeable device. The controller is configured to sequentially energize pairs of coils selected from the subset of the plurality of coils. The controller is configured to select at least two coils from the subset of the plurality of coils for wireless power transmission based on a measure of coupling between each of the pairs of coils and the at least one receiver coil of the chargeable device.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing telemetry information of monitored equipment is disclosed. The apparatus may store a first set of application mappings and a second set of application mappings. The first set of application mappings may be established when equipment to be monitored is connected to the disclosed apparatus. When connected, the processor of the disclosed apparatus may instantiate a monitoring application, which may request a communication port number for communicating telemetry information received from the equipment to be monitored. The application mappings may store an association of the instantiated application and its corresponding communication port number. The apparatus may also establish a common communication interface for communicating with the various monitoring applications based on the stored application mappings. Thus, a client device need only communicate with the common communication interface instead of each of the monitoring applications separately.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for induction charging with a closed magnetic loop are described herein. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless power transmission comprises a plurality of coplanar coils, each of the plurality of coplanar coils configured to be individually energized and produce a magnetic field. Further, the controller is configured to reverse polarity of the magnetic field of at least one of the plurality of coplanar coils based on a measure of coupling between coils and to select at least two of the plurality of coplanar coils for wireless power transmission based on the measure of coupling between coils.

Abstract: An apparatus for managing telemetry sensor controllers identified by their respective communication port identifiers is disclosed. The apparatus may include a memory that stores a telemetry sensor controller mapping that associates an equipment identifier for a telemetry sensor controller with a communication port identifier, an equipment identifier mapping that associates an equipment identifier with a telemetry monitoring application, and a firmware mapping that associates a telemetry monitoring application with a firmware for a telemetry sensor controller. The apparatus may determine an equipment identifier for a connected telemetry sensor controller and instantiate a telemetry monitoring application for the connected telemetry sensor controller based on the equipment identifier mapping.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to wireless power. A wireless charging device may comprise a charging region configured for placement of one or more chargeable devices. The charging device may further include at least one transmit antenna configured for transmitting wireless power within the charging region. Abstract: User interface virtualization describes a technique for providing a user with access to a web application from a computing device, while translating the ergonomics of the web application's user interface style into the ergonomics of the computer device's. A proxy agent exchanges metadata and input events with a corresponding client running on a client device that accepts a “touch and swipe” style input. The proxy agent parses web content, such as markup documents and scripting code, that makes the presentation tier of the web application. The client constructs and displays native graphical user interface elements at the client device that are virtual representations of a corresponding user interface element of the web application.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes establishing a session to a remote desktop determined for a user of a client device. The session allows the client device to remotely access the remote desktop to have one or more services performed for the user of the client device using resources of the remote desktop. The client device sends a request for a service in the one or more services to be performed on the remote desktop in the session and receives a result set determined from the service being performed by the remote desktop. A native viewer for the client device is determined based on a type of the result set. The native viewer is then invoked to display the result set.

Abstract: Viewing and editing operations on a file having an unsupported file type are enabled through a method of opening the file through a remoting session. The method includes the steps of issuing a request to open the file and metadata of the file, programmatically transmitting credentials of the user to a connection server to log the user into a virtual machine, and establishing a remoting session with the virtual machine to access the file for viewing and editing, the virtual machine opening the file based on the request to open the file and the metadata of the file.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for overcoming interference in a multicarrier communication system by applying different antenna configurations to each carrier in a multi-carrier base station based on channel conditions specific to the carrier. Each carrier may be assigned to a different antenna element configuration, each configuration providing a different coverage area. Different portions of a data stream may be transmitted simultaneously via each carrier, the amount of data in each portion of the data stream being defined based on the channel conditions.

Abstract: User profiles of remote desktops are managed in a crash-consistent manner. When a user logs into a remote desktop, metadata of the user profile is loaded from persistent storage while registry settings and files of the user profile are loaded asynchronously with respect to the login. During the remote desktop session, snapshots of the remote desktop image in persistent storage are generated periodically, and a change log that indicates changes to the user profile is created therefrom. The user profile stored in persistent storage is updated lazily using the change log at opportunistic times after snapshot generation. When the user logs out of the remote desktop, the user profile stored in the persistent storage is updated with any additional changes to the user profile by extracting the changes from the copy-on-write cache associated with the most recent snapshot.
