    Abstract: A body-fluid-and-medication leak-proof and closed medical connector has a first connecting assembly and a second connecting assembly. The first connecting assembly has a first sleeve and a first resilient valve. The first resilient valve tends to seal a first opening of the first sleeve. The second connecting assembly has a second sleeve and a second resilient valve. The second resilient valve tends to seal a second opening of the second sleeve. The two resilient valves can avoid leakage of the medication remaining in an injector and a vial, or remaining in a fluid infusion tube and a catheter. The two resilient valves also can seal in two directions to avoid leakage during connecting or separating the two connecting assemblies after supplying medication. Therefore, the transfer of the medication is more hygienic and safe, and the waste of medical resources is effectively reduced.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for fabricating a titanium-containing silicon oxide material with high thermal stability and applications of the same, wherein a titanium source, a silicon source, an alkaline source, a template molecule and a peroxide are formulated into an aqueous solution; the aqueous solution reacts to generate a solid product; the solid product is separated from the aqueous solution with a solid-liquid separation process and dried; the solid product is calcined to obtain a titanium-containing silicon oxide material with high specific surface area. The titanium-containing silicon oxide material fabricated by the present invention has high thermal stability. Therefore, it still possesses superior catalytic activity after calcination. The titanium-containing silicon oxide material can be used to catalyze epoxidation of olefin and is very useful in epoxide production.

The suspension generated by the reaction is processed by solid-liquid separation, flushing and drying to obtain a titanium-containing silicon oxide material. The method features a simplified fabrication process and a low fabrication cost. The titanium-containing silicon oxide material fabricated by the method has a superior catalytic activity, able to catalyze an epoxidation reaction of an olefin-group compound to generate an epoxide.

The actuator and the resilient member are mounted in the housing and the adapter is mounted on a top of the housing. A bottom valve stem is mounted in the valve tube of the housing. A gap is formed between the bottom valve stem and the valve tube. A bottom end of the bottom valve stem abuts the bottom annular blocking projection of the valve tube to close an open bottom of the valve tube. In use, a dosing unit is screwed into the needleless medical connector. Thus, a flow channel is formed within the needleless medical connector and the dosing unit to allow passage of medication.

    Abstract: An injection joint for an IV device tube has a connector with a sealed injection port. The sealed injection port has an injection port socket, a resilient plug and a cap. The resilient plug is mounted in the injection port socket and has a tapered flange and multiple through holes. The cap has a threaded nipple and is securely mounted in the injection port socket around the resilient plug. The tapered flange selectively blocks the threaded nipple. When adding medicinal solution to the injection joint, a syringe without a needle but with an inner threaded opening is screwed onto the threaded nipple of the cap. Pushing the tapered flange into an axial passage in the neck allows the medicinal solution to pass through the through holes and into the injection port socket. The present invention improves the safety to medical personnel when injecting solution into the injection joint.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a polymer-supported carbonylation catalyst and its use in a process for preparing organic carboxylic acid or anhydride having n+1 carbon atoms. The invention relates also to a process for preparing organic carboxylic acid or anhydride having n+1 carbon atoms by carbonylating with monoxide, in the presence of the above-mentioned carbonylation catalyst, on alcohols having n carbon atoms, ethers having 2n carbon atoms or esters formed from said alcohols and acids. In particular, the invention relates to a process for preparing acetic acid by carbonylating methanol with carbon monooxide in the presence of said carbonylation catalyst. By using said carbonylation catalyst, the temperature for carbonylation can be lowered to about 160° C. with a reaction rate better than that of a traditional process, while the tendency of catalyst precipitation in the course of carbonylation can be improved also.

    Abstract: A retractable safety syringe consists of a syringe barrel, a needle mount, a plunger rod and a needle. The needle mount is integrated with an outer hub and an inner hub having a plurality equal-spaced spring clamps formed at a lower end thereof. The plunger rod has a plunger formed with a plunger crown with a cone-shaped tip end portion formed on a top thereof and a neck portion formed between the tip end portion and the plunger crown. When the plunger rod is fully extended into the syringe barrel, the tip end portion is inserted into the lower end of the needle mount and the neck portion is clamped by the spring clamps. The needle is able to be retracted into the syringe barrel after finishing an injection procedure.
