  • Publication number: 20060112516
Abstract: A hinge assembly (100), for joining a flip cover section (110) to a body section (120) of a foldable electronic device (102), includes a shaft (1), at least one pin (2), a spring (3) and a sleeve (4). The shaft includes a body portion (11) and a resisting portion (14). The resisting portion is disposed at one end of the body portion, and the body portion has at least one pin hole therein. Each pin is engaged with a respective pin hole of the shaft. The spring is placed around the resisting portion of the shaft. The sleeve includes a first portion (42) and a second portion (43). The second portion defines at least one sliding slot (44). Each pin protrudes out from a corresponding sliding slot. The hinge assembly is configured to permit a maximum angle (˜160 degrees) between the cover section and the body section.

  • Publication number: 20060115715
Abstract: A battery cover fixing mechanism is provided for coupling a cover (1) to a housing (2) of a portable electronic device. The battery cover fixing mechanism includes a blocking mechanism, an opening (16), a latching mechanism, a slot (20) and a cutout (24). The cover forms the blocking mechanism and defines the opening. The housing defines the slot and the cutout. The latching mechanism includes a block (30), an elastic member (32), a slider (34) having a blocking part, and a holder (36) fixed to the housing. The slider is slidably attached on the holder. The block is fixed on the slider and extends through the cutout and the opening. The blocking mechanism of the cover engages in the slot of the housing and with the blocking part of the slider. Two ends of the elastic member are respectively attached to the holder and the slider.

  • Publication number: 20060109610
Abstract: A battery cover assembly includes a battery cover (10), a moveable member (12), an elastic apparatus (13) and a housing (14). The battery cover defines a button hole (101), and a locking portion (104) is disposed in one side of the battery cover. The moveable member includes a main beam (121) and at least one arm (124). The main beam includes a button (122) received in the button hole. The moveable member is slidably attached to the battery cover. The elastic apparatus includes at least one concave portion (1321). The concave portion includes a clasp (1324) and defines a latching hole (1326). The locking portion engages in the latching hole. The concave portion resists the arm of the moveable member. The housing defines a latching hole (145). The clasp of the elastic apparatus detachably engages in the hole of the housing. This provides a user with convenient disassembling operation.

  • Publication number: 20060085947
Abstract: A hinge (200) is provided in connection with a mobile phone. The hinge includes a shaft (21), a cam (22), a sleeve (25), a torsion spring (24) and a compression spring (23). The shaft includes a first end with two rotatable blocks (211) formed thereon and a second opposite end. The cam includes a first cam end having a flat surface (2230), an intermediate portion (221), a second cam end. The cam surrounds the shaft with the rotatable blocks abutting against the flat surface and being rotatable relative to the cam. The sleeve includes a first end engaged with the second cam end of the cam, and a second end abutting the second end of the shaft. The torsion spring has an inner finger (242) coupled to the shaft, and an outer finger (241) coupled to the sleeve. The compression spring surrounds the intermediate portion of the cam.

  • Publication number: 20060064849
Abstract: A hinge (20) is for joining housings of a foldable electronic device together. The hinge includes an axle (22), a clip (220) at one end of the axle, a spring (24), and a block (26) at an opposite end of the axle. The axle has a screw thread (224) thereon. The block has a screw hole (262) therein. Through engagement of the screw thread in the screw hole, the block is retained on the axle. The spring is retained between the clip and the block. The structure of the hinge is stable, by reason of the connection provided by the axle between the clip and the block. The mobile phone using the hinge can reduce or eliminate damaging impact that would otherwise occur when the cover is opened up from the main housing and reaches an open state.
