  • Publication number: 20130178949
Abstract: Electrospun materials are fabricated using air-flow impedance technology, which results in the production of scaffolds in which some regions are dense with low porosity and others regions are less dense and more porous. The dense regions provide structural support for the scaffold while the porous regions permit entry of cells and other materials into the scaffold, e.g. when used for tissue engineering.

  • Publication number: 20110189291
Abstract: Photoactivatable dendrimers and hydrogels formed therefrom include dendrimers to which polymer chains (e.g. polyethylene glycol, PEG) have been conjugated; and reactive photoactivatable groups attached to terminal functional groups of the polymer chains (e.g. hydroxyls of PEG). Exposure to a suitable wavelength of light activates the photoactivatable groups, which then crosslink with one another, thereby forming a hydrogel. The hydrogel may also include one or more agents of interest; or, in some embodiments, nanoparticles containing one or more agents of interest may be dispersed in the hydrogel. These formulations are well-suited for sustained or prolonged delivery of active agents, e.g. for the treatment of glaucoma by the sustained delivery of anti-glaucoma agents directly to the eye.

Abstract: This disclosure provides for olefin wax oligomer compositions, methods of producing olefin wax oligomer composition, and methods for oligomerizing olefin waxes. This disclosure encompasses metallocene-based olefin wax oligomerization catalyst systems, including those that include a metallocene and an aluminoxane, a metallocene and a solid oxide chemically-treated with an electron withdrawing anion, and a metallocene, a solid oxide chemically-treated with an electron withdrawing anion, and an organoaluminum compound. The olefin wax oligomers prepared with these catalyst systems can decreased needle penetrations, increased viscosity, and an increased drop melt, making them useful as an additive in candles, stone polishes, liquid polishes, and mold release formulations.

  • Publication number: 20110071169
Abstract: The present invention is directed to two novel polymorph form (Form A and Form B) of lapatinib ditosylate, wherein Form A is the hydrate ditosylate salt of lapatinib, and Form B is anhydrate ditosylate salt of lapatinib. The present invention is further directed to amorphous form of lapatinib ditosylate and its solid dispersion. The present invention further provides processes for the preparation of Form A, Form B, Amorphous form and solid dispersion of lapatinib ditosyalte, and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the said forms.
