Abstract: An apparatus capable of switching displayed pictures in response to a slide gesture by a user includes a display screen for displaying a zoomed in current picture, a touch determining unit, a picture processing unit, a control unit, a time calculating unit, and a calculating unit. The picture processing unit determines a width value of the current picture and a distance between a side of the current picture and an edge of the display screen adjacent to the side. The control unit controls the display screen to only display the target picture if a ratio of the distance to the width is equal to or greater than a predetermined ratio, and controls the display screen to only redisplay the current picture if a time duration of a slide gesture from beginning to ending is smaller than a predetermined time period. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing handwriting input includes a touch display unit, a touch display control unit, a storage unit, a calculating unit, and a processing unit. The touch display control unit determines a character in response to a character operation by an input device, and a height and a width of an imaginary rectangle sized to fittingly encircle the character. The calculating unit enlarges the height of the imaginary rectangle by adding a given value to the height of the imaginary rectangle if the height of the imaginary rectangle is smaller than a predetermined value. The processing unit resizes the character displayed within the enlarged imaginary rectangle by a first scaling factor. The touch display control unit controls the touch display unit to display the resized character in one of rows of a character display portion provided by the touch display unit. A related method is also described.

Abstract: An LED display device providing current correction includes a number of LED modules, a microprocessor, and a storage unit storing a standard voltage value. The correction sequence begins with each of the plurality of LED modules entering a work state in sequence, outputting a feedback voltage indicating work current of one of the LED modules to the microprocessor in sequence, comparing the feedback voltage with the standard voltage, adjusting the current of the LED module if the feedback voltage does not equal the standard voltage.

Abstract: A page zooming method for an electronic device having a touch screen includes the following steps. Display an image on the touch screen. Generate operation signals in response to a user's touch operation applied on the touch screen when the touch screen displays the image. Determine a touch region of the touch operation, so as to determine the touch operation as a type of an image zooming gesture according to the determined touch region, and the type of the image zooming gesture is selected from a group consisting of a zooming in gesture and a zooming out gesture. Create a zoomed image according to the displayed image, a predetermined zooming ratio and the determined type of the image zooming gesture. And display the zoomed image on the touch screen. An electronic device using the image zooming method is also provided.

The storage unit stores a relationship table recording a mapping relationship between touch inputs and a number of commands associated with the touch inputs. The touch input unit generates signals in response to user's touch input. The processor includes a control module and an identification module. The control module controls displaying the sensed handwritten content on the display unit. The identification module recognizes the touch input of the sensed handwritten content and identifies if the touch input of the recognized handwritten content is associated with a command according to the signals and the relationship table. The control module also controls the electronic device to execute the associated command.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a first rechargeable battery, a solar cell mounted on the electronic device, a second rechargeable battery and a power management circuit. The power management circuit includes a control module, a DC/DC module, a switch and a power supply switching module. The DC/DC module is configured for converting the DC power generated by the solar cell from one voltage level to another, and activating and maintaining the activation of the control module. The switch is turned on by the control module when the control module is activated, causing the DC power from the DC/DC module to charge the second rechargeable battery. The power supply switching module is controlled by the control module to select the second rechargeable battery to power the electronic device if the voltage level of the rechargeable battery is lower than that of the second rechargeable battery.

Abstract: A street light includes a post, a light source mounted on the post, a communicating unit, a button unit, a camera unit, a storage unit, and a central control unit. The communicating unit communicates with a server which includes an alarm system. The button unit and the camera unit are mounted on the post. The central control unit enables the camera unit to take photo of an area adjacent to the street light in response to manual operation of the button unit. The storage unit stores location information of the street light and the photos taken by the camera unit. The central control unit further transmits the photo and the location information obtained from the storage unit to the server via the communication unit. A related method is also provided.

The method includes the following steps: generating operation signals in response to a touch operation applied on a page displayed on the touch screen; determining the touch operation being a zooming gesture if the touch operation comprising a press operation and a slide operation at a same time; determining the slide direction and determining the type of the zooming gesture according to the determined slide direction of the slide operation, the type of the zooming gesture comprising a zooming in gesture and a zooming out gesture; creating a zoomed page of the page displayed on the touch screen according to the type of the zooming gesture; and displaying the zoomed page on the touch screen. The display unit displays an electronic document in a page flipping format which includes a currently displayed page and a margin portion adjacent to the currently displayed page, and the margin portion includes a plurality of displayed stacked margins of undisplayed pages. The margins cooperatively resemble a thickness of the undisplayed pages. The page flip control module flips the currently displayed page over in response to the flip-page instruction to display a page flipping effect on the display unit. The thickness control module adds or removes a margin displayed in the margin portion, in response to the flip-page instruction to present a variation of the thickness of the undisplayed pages accordingly.

Abstract: A charging management system applied in a public facility includes a communicating unit communicating with a server with an online payment system, a charge interface, a power converting unit, a billing unit, and a control unit. The power converting unit converts power provided by a power supply to charge an electronic device connected to the charge interface. The control unit generates an electronic bill according to a charging cost computed by the billing unit, sends the electronic bill to the server, and communicates with the online payment system of the server to pay for the electronic bills. A related method is also provided.

The central processing unit includes a control module, a searching module, and a spit-screen module. The control module generates a first window on the touch display unit to display a text document when the text document is opened, and determines a selected text of the displayed text document by a user according to touch positions when the touch display unit is touched. The searching module searches occurrences of the selected text in the text document, and the control module stores the searched text in the storage unit. The spit-screen module displays each occurrence of the selected text on a second window produced thereby with a size thereof smaller than that of the first window. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: A data transmitting device communicating with a data receiving device includes a touch display unit displaying a plurality of icons and a control unit. The controlling module determines a first starting position, a touch path, and a first end position of a touch of a user, and a selected icon according to the first starting position, and calculates a transmission progress of data transmission. When the first end position is located on the predetermined position, the data corresponding to the selected icon and position information associated with the first starting position, the touch path, and the first end position are transmitted to the data receiving device. The selected icon is moved from the first starting position to the first end position along the touch path according to the transmission progress. The download request searches the network for content associated with the download addresses, the searched content are downloaded to the target mobile terminal(s).
