Abstract: The present invention provides a bottom lighting backlight module comprising: a light reflecting plate, a plurality of light sources such as lamp and LED; and a diffusion sheet; wherein said diffusion sheet has an excavated structure of shape with cross-section of an inverted triangle having a specific apex angle ranging from 110 degrees to 130 degrees. Some of the light incident on the excavated structure inside the diffusion sheet can be totally reflected and redirected sideways, so that it is possible to reduce the local brightness for area around each light source but significantly improve the evenness of brightness for the whole module.

Abstract: A method is provided for making gene suppression agents to be used in eukaryotic cells by using a recombinant DNA construct containing at least one transcriptional unit compromising a transcriptional promoter, a template sequence for making a RNA molecule, and a transcriptional terminator. Mechanisms of the RNA mediated gene suppression include, but not limited to, RNA interferences (RNAi). The use of the agents as tools for biomedical research as well as medicinal products is also disclosed.

Abstract: A system for providing differentiated service by using category/resource scheduling and the method thereof are provided. The system and the method are mainly used in the Internet environment, and apply computer executable programs executed at relay points or in a servo system to schedule the processes of external requests according to classified categories of and resources consumed by the external requests when the servo system receives the external requests from the Internet. The time points when individual external requests are released to the servo system to be processed are determined by the category weight corresponding to each external request, the proportion of resource consumed by each external request, and the capacity of available resources in the servo system.

Abstract: A phrase input system and a method thereof that is applicable for a handwriting input apparatus is disclosed. The phrase input system comprises a database, an input unit, an output unit, an identification unit, and a comparison unit. The database stores a collection of phrases. The input unit is used for inputting a handwriting phrase that includes at least one handwriting character. The identification unit identifies the handwriting phrase to produce an effective phrase. The comparison unit compares the effective phrase and the collection of phrases in the database in order to find an optimum phrase. The optimum phrase is displayed through the output unit. When the phrase input system is applied to the handwriting input apparatus, the recognition rate of the handwriting is improved.

Abstract: An optical product comprised of an optical film and a protective cover has a cover removal tab attached along one edge. The cover removal tab allows the protective cover to be easily and efficiently removed from the optical film. In addition, there is no imprint of the cover removal tab on the optical film when multiple optical products are stacked or rolled up for storage, the protective cover remains the same size as the optical film, adding the cover removal tab to the optical product only requires a one punch-head converting machine, and there is minimal waste of material and time to add the cover removal tab.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a method of enabling a plurality of electronic devices to play an online game at the same time, which is implemented in a server and a plurality of electronic devices at a remote end of a network. Each of the electronic devices comprises a network card so that the electronic devices are able to connect to the server. In response to receiving game instructions sent from the electronic devices by the server, the server processes game data for obtaining updated data based on the game instructions, and then sends the updated data to each of the electronic devices. As such, a CPU of each of the electronic devices can receive the updated data, show a game screen on a display thereof and interactively play an online game.

Abstract: A mechanical disk brake for a bicycle is characterized in a thrust bearing included in a cam mechanism thereof to overcome the problem of a locked disk brake due to an overly large friction as frequently occurs in conventional mechanical disk brakes, and an eccentric force-application arm with an improved geometrical shape to create different arms of force that enables production of an enhanced tail braking force for the mechanical disk brake. The problem of largely reduced braking force occurs in conventional rim brakes in bad weather or in braking over a prolonged time, and the problem of self-locking frequently occurs in the conventional mechanical disk brakes.

Abstract: A method, network system and computer program product for establishing a server node in a virtual private network with a single tunnel definition and a single security policy for a plurality of tunnels associated with a group name. In one embodiment, a method comprises the step of configuring a group database in the server node. The group database in the server node comprises the group name and a list of members associated with the group name. The method further comprises configuring a rules database in the server node. The rules database associates the group name with a particular security policy. The method further comprises configuring a tunnel definition database in the server node. In the tunnel definition database, the remote ID is defined as the group name. In another embodiment of the present invention, the list of members associated with the group name comprises a non-contiguous list of ID types.

Abstract: A method and a system for implementing a multi-way game are disclosed, wherein a combination of a learning software and a game software is used, and the user can still perform the game playing procedure. The present invention first divides the game software into a number of game stages, according to the difficulty level or the procedure property of the game software. Then, a source weight for each of a number of game sources needed by each of the game stages is determined, so that a game evaluating module is set up. According to the difficulty level and content of the learning software, a learning weight is respectively determined, so that a learning evaluating module is set up. Next, a related database is set up according to the source weight, the learning evaluating weight, and a transformation function, so that the source weight and the learning evaluating weight can be exchanged to each other.

Abstract: A bicycle speed control apparatus for controlling a gear transmission mechanism via a drive cable connected to a bicycle is disclosed. The bicycle speed control apparatus includes a first seat connected to a bicycle handlebar and a second seat having a shaft used to connect to the first seat. A cylindrical sleeve member is used to connect to the drive cable and provided with first teeth, second teeth and third teeth in parallel. A first shifting lever and a second shifting lever are provided to pivot on the shaft. A first pawl and a second pawl are provided to movably mount on the first shifting lever and the second shifting lever, respectively. A resilient member is used to position on the shaft so as to engage the third teeth and disengage the first pawl from the first teeth and disengage the second pawl from the second teeth.

The method also comprises providing a plurality of bridges adjacent the apertures and provided by portions of the oxide layer between an inner region within the inductive loop and an outer region of the oxide layer without the inductive loop, the inductive loop being supported on the bridges. The method comprises forming a trench in the silicon substrate beneath the bridges, to provide an air gap between the inductive loop and the silicon substrate.

The device utilizes cooperative function of positioning recessed slots formed around a rigid positioning plate. The positioning protuberances are provided at the rear of the cover fixing base and the saucer shaped springs are adjacent to the positioning plate to provide mutual engagement force therebetween so as to achieve an excellent positioning effect of gear transmission even under the worst riding environment. As a result, the device can be conveniently operable with a small applied force to perform speed change smoothly, the device having a simplified and easy looking appearance constructed with a small number of components, and being able to easily be assembled and repaired.

The bridging region is comprised of intact bridges and gaps therebetween, which are open to the trench and through which an etchant has access to the silicon substrate to form the trench by etching.
