  • Publication number: 20230035541
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a system that optimizes a prognostic-surveillance system to achieve a user-selectable functional objective. During operation, the system allows a user to select a functional objective to be optimized from a set of functional objectives for the prognostic-surveillance system. Next, the system optimizes the selected functional objective by performing Monte Carlo simulations, which vary operational parameters for the prognostic-surveillance system while the prognostic-surveillance system operates on synthesized signals, to determine optimal values for the operational parameters that optimize the selected functional objective.

  • Publication number: 20230008658
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a system that automatically adapts a prognostic-surveillance system to account for aging phenomena in a monitored system. During operation, the prognostic-surveillance system is operated in a surveillance mode, wherein a trained inferential model is used to analyze time-series signals from the monitored system to detect incipient anomalies. During the surveillance mode, the system periodically calculates a reward/cost metric associated with updating the trained inferential model. When the reward/cost metric exceeds a threshold, the system swaps the trained inferential model with an updated inferential model, which is trained to account for aging phenomena in the monitored system.

  • Publication number: 20220413445
Abstract: An alarm clock includes a microcontroller, a display unit, an audio output unit, ten numeric keys and a functional key. Upon determining that a long-press operation is performed on one of the numeric keys that corresponds to a weekly alarm setting, the microcontroller performs a weekly alarm setting procedure for the corresponding weekly alarm setting. In the weekly alarm setting procedure, the microcontroller sets an alarm time based on some numeric keys that are pressed in a time-setting stage, and sets an alarm day based on at least one numeric key and the functional key that are pressed in a day-setting stage. Then, the microcontroller displays the alarm, time and the alarm day on the display unit.

  • Publication number: 20220413481
Abstract: Techniques for geometric aging data reduction for machine learning applications are disclosed. In some embodiments, an artificial-intelligence powered system receives a first time-series dataset that tracks at least one metric value over time. The system then generates a second time-series dataset that includes a reduced version of a first portion of the time-series dataset and a non-reduced version of a second portion of the time-series dataset. The second portion of the time-series dataset may include metric values that are more recent than the first portion of the time-series dataset. The system further trains a machine learning model using the second time-series dataset that includes the reduced version of the first portion of the time-series dataset and the non-reduced version of the second portion of the time-series dataset. The trained model may be applied to reduced and/or non-reduced data to detect multivariate anomalies and/or provide other analytic insights.

  • Patent number: 11530506
Abstract: An inner drum cover is provided at a drum opening of an inner drum of a washing machine, the inner drum cover is used to open or close the drum opening, so that the inner drum forms a closed container after the drum opening is closed by the inner drum cover. The inner drum can perform washing after the inner drum cover is correspondingly fastened to the drum opening, so that clothes only come into contact with washing water in the sealed inner drum in a washing process. In this way, a case in which the clothes are contaminated because washing water between the inner drum and an outer drum flows into the inner drum is avoided, washing cleanliness of the washing machine is greatly improved, and incomplete washing of the clothes caused by contamination of the washing water between the inner drum and the outer drum is avoided.

  • Patent number: 11507590
Abstract: Techniques are introduced herein for maintaining geometry-type data on persistent storage and in memory. Specifically, a DBMS that maintains a database table, which includes at least one column storing spatial data objects (SDOs), also maintains metadata for the database table that includes definition data for one or more virtual columns of the table. According to an embodiment, the definition data includes one or more expressions that calculate minimum bounding box values for SDOs stored in the geometry-type column in the table. The one or more expressions in the metadata maintained for the table are used to create one or more in-memory columns that materialize the bounding box data for the represented SDOs. When a query that uses spatial-type operators to perform spatial filtering over data in the geometry-type column is received, the DBMS replaces the spatial-type operators with operators that operate over the scalar bounding box information materialized in memory.
