Abstract: One aspect of the present invention relates to reactive compositions and methods of use thereof, wherein a metal oxide cluster is used to connect a reactive group (or groups) to the surface of a substrate. In certain embodiments, the reactive group in the compositions decomposes organophosphate agents through nucleophilic hydrolysis. In certain embodiments, the reactive group in the compositions is bactericidal. Remarkably, the use of metal oxide clusters in the disclosed compositions and methods permits incorporation of higher quantities of nucleophilic and bactericidal groups without the difficulties associated with having to pretreat the substrate prior to its association with the reactive groups.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of allocating a Physical Cell Identifier (PCI) is disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention allowing different cells to operate on different frequencies while eliminating or reducing risk of PCI conflicts. Thereby PCI allocation is provided that is effective also in a multi-frequency environment.

Abstract: The present invention provides a mobile phone for authenticating Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card and a SIM card authentication method adapted for the mobile phone. Once a SIM card is inserted into the mobile phone, the mobile phone acquires a phone number associated with the inserted SIM card and identifies whether the acquired phone number has been stored in the non-erasable programmable memory of the mobile phone. If yes, the user is legal and can use the mobile phone, if no, then the user is illegal and cannot use the mobile phone. Therefore, the mobile phone protects and hides stored information from the user.

Abstract: Elevator tension members are disclosed. The disclosed tension member longitudinally extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a plurality of fibers formed into one or more primary strands or cords extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and a plurality of fibers formed into one or more secondary strands or cords extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and through less than the full length of the belt, and a jacket retaining the primary and secondary strands or cords. The secondary strands or cords have a tensile modulus greater than a tensile modulus of the jacket and less than a tensile modulus of the primary strands or cords. Methods of making the tension member are also disclosed.

One or more reference parameters in relation to incoming calls received by the communication device are defined, a function for evaluating levels of importance of the missed incoming calls is formed using the one or more reference parameters. When an incoming call is received by the communication device, whether the received incoming call is missed is determined If the received incoming call is missed, the one or more reference parameters in relation to the received incoming call are obtained. A level of importance of the missed incoming call is evaluated by applying the obtained one or more reference parameters to the function.

Abstract: Elevator coated ropes or belts are disclosed. The coated rope or belt may include at least one cord and a jacket retaining the at least one cord. The cord may include a plurality of filaments. The filaments are free of second-order helical structure. In a first embodiment, the filaments includes at least one inner filament and a plurality of outer filaments surrounding the at least one inner filament. The outer filaments are bunched together by forming a first-order helical structure through the length of the cord. In a second general embodiment, the filaments are free of both first- and second-order helical structures. The filaments are bunched together by a restraining loop or adhesive at one or more locations along the length of the cord. Methods of making the tension cord are also disclosed.

Abstract: A matrix production system for a production line includes a plurality of processing units, a controller, and a plurality of detectors. Each processing unit covers a plurality of stations having the same or similar functions. Each station has a detector. The controller sets an initial flowchart during process of industrial production and a known first reference capacity for each station. A current number of workpieces at each station is detected. The controller compares the current number with the first reference capacity to determine an overburdened station or otherwise and then analyzes a running state of overburdened station determined as being overburdened to establish a malfunctioning station, and if malfunctioning, switches the flow of workpieces from the malfunctioning station to a station with the greatest amount of available or free capacity.

Abstract: A character recognition method to apply one or more user-controlled definitions to scanned writing is implemented by an electronic device. The electronic device includes an image capturing device where a recognition rule is set for recognizing a type of a sequential code according to an arrangement rule of characters of the type of sequential codes. A first sequential code is extracted from a captured image of an object having a sequential code and when the first sequential code does not match with the recognition rule, the first sequential code is corrected according to the preset recognition rule to obtain a second sequential code for matching with the recognition rule.
