Abstract: A composite material for water or wastewater treatment is described. The composite material has a buoyant substrate, an adsorbant for adsorbing organic compounds, a photocatalyst for degrading organic compounds, and an enhancer for facilitating mass transfer between the adsorbent and the photocatalyst, increasing the selectivity of the composite material, or for proving the photocatalytic efficiency is described. The adsorbent, photocatalyst, and enhancer are immobilized on the substrate.

Abstract: A method for improving startability of a of a gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine by controlling an electric continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) may include determining whether the engine is running, calculating the phase angle of the camshaft and the difference between the position of the camshaft and the optimum position of the lobe of the high pressure pump, applying a duty to the drive motor to rotate the camshaft, calculating the difference between the current position of the camshaft after rotation and the target position of the camshaft, and comparing the difference with a predetermined value. When the difference is not smaller than a predetermined value, the duty is raised and applied to the drive motor to rotate the camshaft further until the difference is reduced and smaller than the predetermined value.

Abstract: A voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) system. The system includes a first device and a second device. The first device is disposed in a wireless local area network (WLAN) and connected to an Internet, for performing voice communication with a remote device through the Internet. Additionally, the first device processes audio information received during the voice communication to generate at least a playback audio packet, sends out the playback audio packet through the WLAN, receives at least a captured audio packet through the WLAN, and processes the captured audio packet to generate audio information to be sent out during the voice communication. The second device is disposed in the WLAN, for receiving the playback audio packet through the WLAN, playing audio information contained in the playback audio packet, capturing outside audio information to generate the captured audio packet, and sending out the captured audio packet through the WLAN.

Abstract: A method based on pure phase encode FIDs that permits high strength gradient measurement is disclosed. A small doped water phantom (1˜3 mm droplet, T1, T2, T2*<100 ?s) within a microprobe is excited by a series of closely spaced broad-band RF pulses each followed by single FID point acquisition. Two trial gradient waveforms illustrate the technique, neither of which could be measured by the conventional microprobe measurement. The first is an extended duration gradient waveform while the other illustrates this method's ability to measure gradient waveforms with large net area and/or high amplitude. This method is a point monitor with simple implementation and low cost hardware requirements.

Abstract: Techniques are described for assigning, to target categories of a target scheme, items that have been obtained from a plurality of sources. In situations in which one or more of the sources has organized its information according to a source scheme that differs from the target scheme, the assignment may be based, in part, on an estimate of the probability that items from a particular source category should be assigned to a particular target category. Such probability estimates may be based on how many training set items associated with the particular source category have been assigned to the particular target category. Source categories may be grouped into clusters. The probability estimates may also be based on how many training set items within the cluster to which the particular source category has been mapped, have been assigned the particular target category.

Abstract: A wireless communication system transmits and receives electronic voice signals between a wireless communication device and a wireless networking device at a call bitrate stored in the wireless communication device. By using the call bitrate when transmitting and receiving call signals, the wireless communication system is able to eliminate delays in the call signals caused if the signal becomes worse.

Abstract: A system for managing a Digital Rights Management (DRM) content includes a content providing server for providing an environment, through which a DRM content and a digital right of the DRM content can be registered, a service providing server for issuing a license serving as a usage authority for each of DRM content files provided from the content providing server, generating a license revocation execution value in a specific field of the issued license, encrypting the generated license revocation execution value for transmission to a user terminal, and the user terminal for inspecting the license of the DRM content file transmitted from the service providing server, and extracting and storing the license and the license revocation execution value to use a corresponding DRM content file according to the license, and upon receiving a revocation request, transmitting a revocation result of the corresponding license to the service providing server.

Abstract: Aspects described herein provide for the design and fabrication of a device with an enhanced pyroelectric response signal comprised of multi-capacitors that are connected in series. These capacitors are fabricated using multi-layers of materials such as lead zirconate titanate (PZT), BaxSr1-xTiO3 (barium strontium titanate) and Bi4Ti3O12 (bismuth titanate) films that exhibit pyroelectric affect and belong to the class of polar materials. By controlling the poling direction of the multi-layer integrated structure, the pyroelectric voltage can be aligned in one direction, and as a result, the voltage output from the single element is the total contribution from each capacitor.

Abstract: Disclosed are a primer composition having photochromic property and impact resistance for coating transparent materials and a photochromic transparent material having a primer layer formed by coating and curing the primer composition. The primer composition for coating transparent materials comprises: a) 5-90 parts by weight of a polyurethane containing Brønsted salt; b) 5-50 parts by weight of a polyepoxy resin; and c) 140 parts by weight of a photochromic dye, based on 100 parts by weight of the total primer composition. The photochromic transparent material having a primer layer formed by coating and curing the primer composition shows excellent photochromic property and impact resistance.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for setting a Digital Rights Management (DRM) time for a DRM-enabled portable terminal for securing a reliable DRM time are provided. The method includes detecting a DRM time setting event, acquiring a reference time and a local time upon detection of the DRM time setting event, determining a reference value using the reference time and the local time, and setting the DRM time or the portable terminal based on the reference value.

Abstract: A tray transportation device is disclosed in this invention. The tray transportation device includes a transfer stage, a loading handler, an operation handler and an unload stage. The transfer stage has a buffer area and an operation area. The loading handler is disposed on the buffer area to handle a tray in the buffer area. The operation handler is disposed on the operation area to handle a tray in the operation area. The unload stage is used to carry the tray transferred from the transfer stage. The loading handler and the operation handler move together, when the operation handler transfers the tray from the operation area to the unload stage; the loading handler transfers the tray from the buffer area to the operation area.

Abstract: A system in which a source device can withdraw a Rights Object (RO) that a source device requested a target device to move through a Rights Issuer (RI) and operation method thereof are provided. The method includes transmitting a rights object withdrawal request message to a rights issuing server by a device, transmitting a rights object withdrawal response message to the device by the rights issuing server in response to the rights object withdrawal request message, and withdrawing and installing a corresponding rights object when receiving the rights object withdrawal response message by the device.

Abstract: A method for guiding to solve system errors is applied to a computer system. The method of the invention includes the step of calling a debugging application software to check a system state of the computer system when a request for detecting errors inputted by a user is received. When a system error occurring in the computer system is detected, a client database is connected to determine whether a corresponding solution for the user to debug the computer system exists. When the solution corresponding to the system error is not searched out from the client database, a network is connected to transfer a detected error message to a client service terminal.

Abstract: A method for operating a computer having at least an operating system is provided. The method includes the steps of building a plurality of working platforms each of which has a corresponding user interface in the operating system and providing at least a calling link for each working platform to allow each working platform to have at least a piece of usable application software. In addition, a platform selected sub-interface is provided to receive the input of a user. Thus, the corresponding working platform may be called according to the input of the user to allow the user to operate the computer under the user interface corresponding to the selected working platform.

Abstract: A content providing method and system are disclosed that enable content producers to make a profit by providing contents encrypted by a mobile terminal. The content providing method includes: encrypting, by a mobile terminal, a content and registering the encrypted content in a content providing server; finding, by a communication terminal, the content registered in the content providing server and paying a use fee to use the content; and transmitting a valid authentication key associated with the content to the communication terminal after the payment. Accordingly, since content producers directly encrypt their contents, they can make a profit corresponding to the use of the contents.

Abstract: A transmission method for identifying infrared transmission head is provided. The infrared transmission head is coupled to an infrared controller. The infrared controller is set to a test circuit mode. The infrared controller is programmed according to the test transmission mode associated with the test brand name of the infrared transmission head and test transmission data is transmitted. In the meantime, the infrared controller receives reception test data from the infrared transmission head according to the test transmission mode associated with the test brand name of the infrared transmission head. If the transmission test data and the reception test data are identical, the test brand name and associated test transmission mode are registered. The infrared transmission head operates according to the registered test brand name and associated test transmission mode of the infrared transmission head.
