  • Publication number: 20080198823
Abstract: A user can link a station to an access point by triggering buttons of the station and the access point respectively. After the buttons are triggered, the station scans the SSID of the access point. The access point updates SSID and sends out the new SSID to the station in response to the station's request. Then, the station generates a security key according to the new SSID and links the access point according to the new SSID and the security key so as to establish a WLAN link.

Abstract: A method for enhancing a Digital Rights Management (DRM) authority, a content having an enhanced DRM authority and a portable terminal using the same. Reproduction of divisional regions of the content is prevented when a corresponding count value is equal to a permitted maximum number of reproductions. The DRM authority includes: reproducing DRM content having a first division region to an nth division region, where n is a natural number; and changing a first count value to an nth count value according to reproduction of the DRM content, wherein the count value limits a number of reproduction times of the DRM content for the corresponding division region. A variety of parameters can be set for each individual region to change the count value.

  • Patent number: 7293111
Abstract: The present invention provides a network system supporting a plurality of physical layers and the method thereof. The driver system and the method thereof utilizes the basic input/output system of the computer system to setup the network physical layer that is physically connected, and to calculate the simulation device code corresponding to the selected network physical layer according to the setup and the device code read from the network interface adapter, so that the computer system is able to recognize and enable the appropriate device driver of the physical layer. Therefore, the user is able to change the physical layer that is physically connected without reloading the device driver corresponding to the physical layer that is physically connected again and again, and also doesn't have to reconfigure the communication protocol parameters.

  • Publication number: 20070214140
Abstract: Techniques are described for assigning, to target categories of a target scheme, items that have been obtained from a plurality of sources. In situations in which one or more of the sources has organized its information according to a source scheme that differs from the target scheme, the assignment may be based, in part, on an estimate of the probability that items from a particular source category should be assigned to a particular target category. Such probability estimates may be based on how many training set items associated with the particular source category have been assigned to the particular target category. Source categories may be grouped into clusters. The probability estimates may also be based on how many training set items within the cluster to which the particular source category has been mapped, have been assigned the particular target category.

  • Patent number: 6584570
Abstract: Disclosed is a codec (coder/decoder) system with shadow buffers and method of performing a Power Down/Suspend mode operation on this codec system, which allows all the codecs in the codec system to know the operating status of each other so that system crash can be prevented during a power down/suspend operation. The codec system includes two or more codecs and associated codec controllers, with each codec controller including a status data buffer and a shadow buffer; and each codec controller utilizes the status data buffer therein for registering the operating status thereof and meanwhile utilizes the shadow buffer therein for storing a copy of the operating status data stored in the status data buffer of the other codec controller. The provision of the shallow buffers allows all the codecs in the codec system to be capable of knowing the operating status of each other. This feature can help prevent system crash during power down/suspend operation.
