    Abstract: Authenticated encryption algorithms may function in both a data encryption and authentication operational mode as well as an authentication only operational mode. A first circuit may generate encrypted data and generate a first authentication tag. The first circuit may output for transmission as part of an MPDU, the first authentication tag and either the encrypted data or plaintext data based a control flag. A receiver device may receive the MPDU and a second encryption circuit of the receiver device may receive the first authentication tag and, based on a control flag, receive either the plaintext data or the encrypted data and from the MPDU and generate a second authentication tag by encrypting the plaintext data or decrypting the encrypted data depending on which is received. The second circuit may verify that management frames of the MPDU are valid/have not been tampered with if the first and second authentication tags match.

    Abstract: A method of improving autoscaling for bursty traffic. A performance metric is received and used by an autoscaling controller to scale a number of deployed processes. The performance metric is compared to a pre-existing target. When the performance metric exceeds the pre-existing target, the number of deployed processes is determined to be increased based on a curved metric. The curved metric is generated by applying a curve function to the performance metric, which prescales the number of deployed processes. The autoscaling controller then increases the number of deployed processes based on the curved metric.

Using ambient energy, a hashing operation can be executed using at least a previously stored first device ID and R1 to generate a local hash value to validate the wakeup frame. In response to a validated wakeup frame, an address (Aa), second random value (R2), and an encryption key can be generated, the latter using at least a previously stored secret value (P). Using ambient energy, UL data can be encrypted using the encryption key. A response data frame can be transmitted that includes Aa as a source address, R1, R2, and the encrypted UL data. The ambient energy can be derived from radio frequency signals present in an operating environment. Corresponding devices and systems are also disclosed.
