  • Patent number: 9887646
Abstract: A method for checking an out-of-step of a synchronous motor includes detecting electric degrees of the synchronous motor, in which the electric degrees comprise at least a first electric degree and a second electric degree detected at a preset interval, and the second electric degree is detected after the first electric degree; comparing the first electric degree with the second electric degree to obtain a comparing result; and determining that the synchronous motor is out of step when the comparing result satisfies a preset requirement. It is determined that the synchronous motor is out of step when the electric degree keeps unchanged or decreases progressively, or an increment of the electric degree is very small.

  • Patent number: 9843364
Abstract: A rate-adaptive method of communicating over a multipath wireless communication system uses multiple links such that each end of a link uses multiple transmit and receive antennas. A number of independent streams that are to be transmitted for each link is determined based on an overall system performance measure. In addition, the system may also jointly determine the best modulation, coding, power control, and frequency assignment for each link, based on an overall system performance measure. In OFDM systems, the number of independent streams, as well as the modulation, coding, and power control, may be determined on a tone-by-tone basis based on an overall system performance measure.

  • Patent number: 9736928
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an article having (a) a substrate having a first nanostructured surface that is antireflective when exposed to air and an opposing second surface; and (b) a conductor micropattern disposed on the first surface of the substrate, the conductor micropattern formed by a plurality of traces defining a plurality of open area cells. The micropattern has an open area fraction greater than 80% and a uniform distribution of trace orientation. The traces of the conductor micropattern have a specular reflectance in a direction orthogonal to and toward the first surface of the substrate of less than 50%. Each of the traces has a width from 0.5 to 10 micrometer. The articles are useful in devices such as displays, in particular, touch screen displays useful for mobile hand held devices, tablets and computers. They also find use in antennas and for EMI shields.

  • Patent number: 9680793
Abstract: An in-band signaling method that enables secure updates of a care-of-IP address for a mobile host that roams between access networks. In the illustrative embodiment described herein, a mobile host includes an intelligent interface that handles IP networking functions and tunnels IP packets between the mobile host and the mobile host's home agent/remote access server (HA/RAS) transparently, as if the mobile host established a connection to a communicating or destination host (DST) from the home network (where the HA/RAS resides). In accordance with an aspect of the invention, there is provided an in-band signaling method that employs encrypted three-way handshake signaling messages that are embedded in encapsulated IP packets to enable care-of IP address updates. This method can effectively protect mobile hosts from denial-of-service attacks and is transparent to NAT/NAPT firewalls.

  • Patent number: 9584468
Abstract: A method and apparatus to enable IP networking for mobile hosts without requiring changes to be made to the TCP/IP stack in the operating system installed on the mobile hosts. The apparatus is an “intelligent device” that can be installed on or connected to a mobile host, and may comprise a software-only logical module, physical hardware, or a combination of both. To a mobile host, the intelligent device emulates a network interface such as an Ethernet card or a telephone modem. The intelligent device appears to an access network just like any regular IP host connected to the access network through a physical network interface device. The intelligent device handles all mobile networking functions for the mobile host, and may control multiple different physical network interface devices to enable a connection to an access network available to the mobile user at his location.

  • Publication number: 20160254852
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device, process or software that determines an operation between a number of pairs of antennas of a set of antennas. A pair of antennas of the number of pairs of antennas is determined based on the operation. One antenna of the pair of antennas is eliminated from the set of antennas, which results in a reduced number of antennas remaining in the set of antennas. Each of the determining of the operation, the determining of the pair of antennas of the reduced number of antennas and the eliminating of the one antenna of the pair of antennas is repeated in response to the reduced number of antennas being greater than a predetermined number of antennas. Other embodiments are disclosed.
