  • Publication number: 20120315168
Abstract: An exemplary heat dissipation fan includes a rotor and a stator. The rotor includes a hub, a central shaft extending down from a top end of the hub, the shaft having a free end far from the top end of the hub. A magnetic element attached to an inner periphery of the hub. The stator includes a stator core consisting layers of yokes, two insulation frames mounted at two opposite ends of the stator core and a coil wound around the insulation frames. An outer surface of the stator faces and is spaced from an inner surface of the magnetic element of the rotor with a clearance defined therebetween. A width of a bottom end of the clearance adjacent to the free end of the shaft being smaller than a width of a top end of the clearance.

  • Patent number: 7487987
Abstract: This invention is a user-propelled riding toy. A platform on which a user stands is supported by at least two wheels; and a geartrain mounts to the wheels. The geartrain is adapted to receive a downward force from the pedals, and translate a portion of the downward force into a rotational force on the wheels. The geartrain also provides an upward return force acting on the pedal. The platform is propelled forward direction by the rotational force on the wheels. When one pedal is pressed down, the other pedal will be raised simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20080182132
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to determining the cleanliness of a part used in manufacturing by selectively detecting particles substantially comprised of hard contaminant. According to one embodiment, filtered particles captured on a filter are received at a selective particle detection device. The selective particle detection device determines if at least one of the filtered particles is substantially comprised of hard contaminant. Examples of hard contaminant include silicate, carbide, and ceramic. The determination does not require detecting particles which are not substantially comprised of hard contaminant.

  • Patent number: 7073805
Abstract: This invention is a user-propelled riding toy. A platform on which a user stands is supported by a steering mechanism that transfers a directional force from the platform; and a geartrain mounts to the wheels. The geartrain is adapted to receive a downward force from the platform, and translate a portion of the downward force into a rotational force on the wheels. The geartrain also provides an upward return force acting on the platform, and translates a directional force into a lateral force acting on the wheels. The platform is propelled forward direction by the rotational force on the wheels. Lateral forces cause two sets of wheels to pivot in opposite directions, and thereby directionally steer the platform.

  • Patent number: 5474909
Abstract: A method of evaluating the effectiveness of drugs in inhibiting the growth of tumor cells. A sample of a tumor is histocultured, a drug to be evaluated is added to the sample and the sample is incubated. A suitable tetrazolium salt is added and a frozen section of the sample is prepared. The section is stained with a fluorescent dye. The section is exposed to polarized light and the reflected light is measured. Then the section is exposed to fluorescent light and the light emitted by the dye is measured. These measurements are compared to a control and/or measurements from tests using other drugs and the relative effectiveness of the drug is evaluated, preferably by pixel analysis.
