  • Patent number: 11956074
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for identifying physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) parameters, such as a PDCCH blind decode limit and a PDCCH control channel element limit, for implementations where a user equipment (UE) is configured with two or more cell groups. The techniques described herein permit the UE or a base station to determine the quantity of cell groups that is to be considered when determining the PDCCH parameters, permit the UE to indicate PDCCH capability values across multiple frequency ranges, and permit the base station to schedule a quantity of PDCCHs for the UE that results in a quantity of blind decodes that exceeds a PDCCH blind decode limit or a quantity of control channel elements that exceeds a PDCCH control channel element limit.

  • Patent number: 11956779
Abstract: Aspects relate to wireless communications utilizing cross carrier scheduling Methods and apparatus include generating at least one slot in a control channel from a scheduling cell, the at least one slot including a plurality of control channel segments such as PDCCH segments, which are arranged at respective times within the at least one slot. Each of the control channel segments includes control information such as DCIs corresponding to respective slots for a scheduled cell. • Publication number: 20240114330
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may support cellular communications (e.g., Uu signaling) in a first frequency range and may support sidelink communications in a second, higher frequency range. To reduce the processing overhead and latency involved in sidelink discovery in the second frequency range, the UE may use Uu signaling in the first frequency range to assist with the sidelink discovery. For example, the UE may determine, based on a configuration, an uplink message supporting UE detection in the first frequency range to support sidelink discovery. The UE may monitor for the uplink message in the first frequency range and may detect a second UE based on the monitoring. The UEs may establish a sidelink connection for sidelink communications in the second frequency range based on the detection of the second UE in the first frequency range.

  • Publication number: 20240114449
Abstract: A network node may transmit a first signal to a first radio at a user equipment (UE). The UE may receive the first signal from the network node. The first signal may include a first configuration for a second radio at the UE. The UE may operate the second radio in a first mode based on the first configuration received via the first radio. The first radio may have a lower power consumption than the second radio or the second radio may have the lower power consumption than the first radio. For example, one radio may be a low-power wake-up radio (LP-WUR) having a lower power consumption than a main radio (MR) at the UE. The network node and the UE may communicate with one another via the second radio at the UE based on the first configuration transmitted to the first radio.

  • Publication number: 20240114541
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Sidelink communications between user equipments (UE)s may include services that demand low latency and high reliability, such as extended reality (XR) and ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC). Given the latency demands for XR and URLLC, XR and URLLC may be higher priority than other communications types. A UE may determine that data for transmission over sidelink has a high priority level based on a remaining packet delay budget associated with the data. UEs may monitor for sidelink transmissions in accordance with network configured discontinuous reception (DRX) cycles. The DRX cycles configured by the network for sidelink communications, however, may not match with the periodicity of XR traffic. For XR communications, the transmitting UE may indicate an offset to apply to a DRX cycle such that the receiving UE may adjust the DRX cycle to match the periodicity of the XR communications.

  • Publication number: 20240114450
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be instructed to, or may autonomously determine to, extend a monitoring time period (e.g., by extending the on duration to cover more downlink transmissions, or by extending the on duration and continuing to monitor after on durations, or both). In some examples, a wakeup signal (WUS) or a downlink control information (DCI) message may explicitly indicate an amount of time to extend the on duration or inactivity timer (or to pause the inactivity timer). In some examples, the network may configure the UE with a power threshold (e.g., charging rate, discharging rate, energy harvesting rate, current power levels, or power headroom), or a traffic rate (e.g., number of transport blocks per time interval), and the UE may autonomously extend the on duration or timer if its energy levels or traffic rate exceeds the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20240114480
Abstract: A determination of a position of a target mobile device in a wireless communication network employing time-division duplexing (TDD) can use a wireless reference signal from another mobile device with a known position. The other mobile device can be configured to transmit the wireless reference signal using cross-link interference (CLI), where the target mobile device receives the signal during a period in which the target mobile device is configured to receive downlink (DL) communication. The target mobile device then transmits another wireless reference signal, which is received by a base station, which also receives the wireless reference signal from the other mobile device. The timing of these various signals received at the target mobile device and base station can be used to determine the location of the mobile device.
