  • Publication number: 20040135812
Abstract: An information device has an operating system used for establishing a re-configurable taskbar on a display, the taskbar capable of reading from a default taskbar file or a custom taskbar file. The default taskbar file is stored in a folder pointed to by a default path and defined as having a plurality of default options displayable in the taskbar. The custom taskbar file is stored in a folder pointed to by a specific path and defined as having the aforementioned default component and a custom component storing customization settings for at least one user. The custom taskbar file has a corresponding registration code. When the information apparatus receives a command for generating the taskbar and detects that the registration code is valid, it will read the custom taskbar file and displays the taskbar on the display according to the custom taskbar file.

  • Publication number: 20040131188
Abstract: A method of generating key data for successful communications during a network link, which is applied in two information devices with wireless fidelity (WiFi) wireless modules. The two information devices use identical non-private key data (SSID and WEP private key) to achieve an initial connection, and exchange their own unique network card ID numbers. The first information device and the second information device both generate new key data by utilizing the first unique ID number and the second unique ID number to ensure security of the network link.

  • Publication number: 20040104929
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of establishing a customized webpage desktop applied in an information apparatus. After an operating system is enabled, a shell program is initialized, and a browser is called to register the browser as a desktop format, and to cause the browser to display information on the corresponding desktop area of the information apparatus. A webpage file is read from a specific directory according to a path pointed to by the shell program. The webpage file has local application links. The browser reads the webpage file and displays the webpage file in the desktop format in the desktop area of the information apparatus to form the customized webpage desktop.

  • Publication number: 20040103172
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of updating an operating system image of a portable information device, wherein the portable information device comprises a burn program for burning a new operating system image to a memory of the portable information device. The method first detects size of the new operating system image saved in an external device; then checks if an available capacity of the memory is sufficient for the new operating system image; if the available capacity is sufficient, proceeding to a subsequent step; further, it downloads the new operating system image from the external device; and finally starts the burn program to burn the external new operating system image to the memory.

  • Publication number: 20040021676
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus of view window scrolling applied in a touch-control information apparatus, the touch-control information apparatus utilizing an input device or finger of a user for an input signal. The present invention controls movement of a view window page according to a scrolling signal generated by the input device or the finger moving across a touch panel corresponding to the view window page. No characters or images are highlighted in response to the scrolling signal. After receiving the scrolling signal, the touch-control information apparatus calculates a vertical displacement and a horizontal displacement of a start coordinate value and an end coordinate value, and then moves the view window page in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction according to the calculated vertical displacement and horizontal displacement.

  • Patent number: 6494385
Abstract: A controlling device for a rotating sprinkler is composed of a sleeve (10), a compressing block (21), a spring (22), a controller (23), a rotator (24), a cushion (25), and a shelter ring (26). The rotator (24) rotates with a rotating sprinkler (50) synchronously and operates with the controller (23) to construct a gap selectively therebetween so that a quantity of water flowing into the rotating sprinkler (50) is changed when the gap is formed or not. Whereby the controlling device arranges a substantially rectangular spraying arrangement of the rotating sprinkler (50).

  • Patent number: 5445355
Abstract: An antenna-mounting device includes a mount and a quick-release clip joined with the mount. An antenna is attached to the mount. The quick-release clip includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a first margin and a second margin which is curved so as to form a lower jaw, two spaces defined therein and two tabs which perpendicularly project from the first member so that the spaces are between the tabs. The second member includes a margin disposed above the lower jaw. A pad includes a first portion adhered to the first margin of the first member and a second portion adhered to the second member. A buckle includes two tabs which perpendicularly project from the buckle and each define a pivot point which is linked to one of the tabs of the first member, a first edge and a second edge, so that a distance between the first edge and the pivot point is less than a distance between the second edge and the pivot point. The buckle is switched between a released position and locked position.
