Abstract: The folder type mobile terminal is operated in a horizontal mode or vertical mode depending on a display state of a display unit of which a length and height are different, and includes a digital broadcast processor for receiving and processing digital broadcast data in a broadcast reception mode, a folder movement detector for detecting opening and closing of a folder, the display unit for outputting the digital broadcast data in the horizontal mode, and a controller for controlling an operation of the folder type mobile terminal to maintain the call if the folder is closed in response to an incoming call during the broadcast reception mode. Accordingly, if the folder is closed for a moment and then reopened while an event is in progress, the predetermined event is retained in progress.

Abstract: Provided are extendable loop-back passive optical network (PON) and scheduling method and apparatus for the same. The loop-back type PON includes an OLT (optical line terminal) including a wavelength-tunable optical transmitter and a wavelength-locked optical receiver, and an RN (remote node) including an optical coupler/splitter, the optical coupler/splitter receiving optical signals from the wavelength-tunable optical transmitter and splitting the optical signals by wavelength so as to transmit the optical signals to corresponding ONTs (optical network terminals). Each of the ONTs transmits upstream data to the OLT using the same wavelength as the wavelength of the optical signal received from the OLT through the RN. Since the optical network makes use of the TDM and WDM communication schemes, the optical network can be maintained and upgraded at lower cost.

Abstract: Provided are a physical coding sublayer (PCS) apparatus and an Ethernet layer architecture for a network-based tunable-wavelength passive optical network (T-PON) system employing an Ethernet communications technology, and more particularly, to a PCS apparatus and an Ethernet layer architecture for supporting a series of initialization function of allocating wavelengths between an optical line terminal (OLT) and an optical network terminal (ONT) and arranging the allocated wavelengths. A PCS layer transmits and allocates wavelength information such that wavelengths for setting a link between an OLT and an ONT are allocated, optical wavelengths within the ONT are observed while a system operates to allow continuous control so that operating of the system can be stably maintained.

Abstract: Provides is a method for processing a multicast packet received in a system for simultaneously providing virtual interface-based layer-2 multicast switching and layer-3 multicast routing. When a destination MAC address of a received Ethernet frame is a multicast MAC address, a VLAN-based layer-2 multicast switching function is performed. When a destination IP address of a received Ethernet frame is a multicast IP address, a virtual interface-based layer-3 multicast routing function is simultaneously performed within the same system.

Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for broadcasting a user report. In the system and the method, a user transmits a user message including a report and location information stored in a digital multimedia broadcast receiving terminal to a digital multimedia broadcasting station as incoming information extracted from digital multimedia broadcasting signals. The digital multimedia broadcasting station receives the user message and the location information, generates area information which includes both area specific information of an area based on the user message and the location information and area specific information of adjacent areas, and broadcasts the area information. The digital multimedia broadcast receiving terminal having received the area information provides the area information to a user when previously stored location information is included in the area specific information of the area information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a digital broadcast receiver including a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) module for receiving digital broadcastings of multiple channels; an output unit for outputting voice and image signals of the digital broadcastings; and a controller for controlling the DMB module to receive the digital broadcastings while successively and automatically switching the channels at a predetermined time interval, and controlling the digital broadcasting data received in the DMB module to be transmitted to the output unit.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for preventing contents from being recorded by an external device. A digital broadcasting receiver capable of reproducing a broadcasting transmits a watermark together with broadcasting data, thereby preventing unauthorized copying. If contents transmitted by a broadcasting provider are displayed through an external monitor such as a general TV in the case of digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), the copying of the contents may be performed without any restrictions. Accordingly, in view of content protection mechanism, a unique code is produced only when the DMB data is transmitted to an external device, the digital broadcasting receiver and the DMB data can be traced.
