    Abstract: A cassette tape ejecting apparatus has a chassis having a pin boss, a hook hole and a locking groove formed as a single body, a cassette housing installed on the chassis to be transferred to a tape insertion position and a tape ejection position, a cassette tape being mounted thereon, a locking lever being installed on the cassette housing, and having a locking protrusion hooked on the looking groove of the chassis when the cassette housing is transferred to the tape insertion position, an eject lever installed on the chassis to be rotated through the pin boss of the chassis in the forward/backward direction unlocks the locking protrusion from the locking groove of the chassis to eject the cassette tape, and a cassette switch turned on/off by the forward/backward rotation of the eject lever, for detecting ejection of the cassette tape.

The compressing lever is driven by a driving force from the sliding member, and compresses the review arm in a direction such that the elastic member is stretched. The pivot lever is then rotated by the stretched elastic member and adheres the pinch roller closely to the capstan shaft.

In here, around external circumference of the locking protrusion is formed at least one edge, and an end of the edge comes into contact with a corner of the locking recess right before the locking protrusion is inserted into the locking recess. Accordingly, the locking protrusion comes into linear contact with the corner of the locking recess in loading/unloading operations of the tape cassette so that the stopping of the ascending and descending movements of the tape cassette housing is prevented during the loading/unloading operations of the tape cassette.

This arrangement can thus achieve 2-dimensional plane-traveling of the magnetic tape while also reducing the number of the parts of the guiding system.
