In here, around external circumference of the locking protrusion is formed at least one edge, and an end of the edge comes into contact with a corner of the locking recess right before the locking protrusion is inserted into the locking recess. Accordingly, the locking protrusion comes into linear contact with the corner of the locking recess in loading/unloading operations of the tape cassette so that the stopping of the ascending and descending movements of the tape cassette housing is prevented during the loading/unloading operations of the tape cassette.

Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus includes a deck to which a head drum is mounted to record and reproduce information with respect to a running tape, and a tape-end sensor to sense starting and finishing ends of the running tape. The tape-end sensor includes a light emitter mounted on the deck to project a light onto the tape being drawn and run from the tape cassette, a light receiver receiving light projected from the light emitter and transmitted through the tape, and a light interrupter blocking light projected to the light receiver that does not pass through the running tape.

The stator motor includes a double sided flexible printed circuit (FPC). A signal line is formed in a pattern is formed on both sides of the flexible printed circuit (FPC) for inputting an electrical signal. A plurality of wound driving coils are connected to a first side of the flexible printed circuit (FPC) to electrically connect with the signal line. A yoke is connected to a second side of the flexible printed circuit (FPC).

Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus and a method for braking a reel assembly comprising a lower disc rotatably supported by a stationary shaft located on the deck and an upper disc arranged on the stationary shaft to rotatably coupled to an upper portion of the lower disc. Thus, the upper and lower discs are rotatably coupled to a tape reel of a tape cassette. A disc gear is positioned between the upper and lower discs to receive power from a capstan motor. A friction member is disposed between and in contact with the lower disc.

The pivot lever is then rotated by the stretched elastic member and adheres the pinch roller closely to the capstan shaft.

A plate spring is positioned between a reel gear and a reel disc of a reel disc assembly which is mounted on a deck of a tape recorder, and a stopper reel is provided on the reel disc to restrain the engaging height of the plate spring so that a torque is generated by the frictional contact between the reel disc and the plate spring, whereby assembly productivity can be enhanced and manufacturing costs can be reduced.

Abstract: Disclosed are a reel brake device and a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus having the same. The reel brake device comprises a tension band mounted on an outer circumference of a reel disc to control tension, the reel disc which is rotatably mounted on the main chassis to drive a tape reel of a tape cassette, and a brake unit fixed on the main chassis to help the tension band be in contact with the outer circumference of the reel disc. This can replace a conventional brake unit having a complicated structure, and therefore, the number of component parts can be reduced.

Abstract: A reel cover of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus having an improved assembly construction with respect to a chassis and a method of manufacturing thereof provide a reel cover assembled with the chassis in a manner where a plurality of protrusions of a reel cover body are inserted in a plurality of recesses formed on the chassis. In this state, a resilient member formed at the reel cover body resiliently contacts a side surface of the chassis so that the protrusions are kept within the recesses. The reel cover can be assembled with the chassis in a simple manner without requiring extra securing means such as screws. Accordingly, the number of assembly parts can be decreased and the assembly procedure may be simplified, thereby productivity may be improved and manufacturing cost may be reduced.

The main cam gear causes the sub-deck, the pole base loading unit, the brake unit, and the main sliding member to perform linked movements while the main cam gear is rotationally driven.

Abstract: An improved magnetic tape guiding device for use with a magnetic tape transport system of a tape recorder and the like, and a method for using the same. The magnetic tape guiding system of the tape recorder transport system has a supply reel pole base assembly having a slant pole with a first guide unit having portions formed at both ends of the slant pole to function as a conventional roller for regulating upward and downward movement of the upper and lower edges of a moving magnetic tape, and a tension pole assembly having a tension pole with a second guide unit having portions formed at both ends of the tension pole to function as a conventional impedance roller for regulating upward and downward movement of the upper and lower edges of the moving magnetic tape. This arrangement can thus achieve 2-dimensional plane-traveling of the magnetic tape while also reducing the number of the parts of the guiding system.
