    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for the generation of electrical power from acousto-mechanical vibrations originating from the vocal folds of the human body. The apparatus and methods can include one or more beams comprising a piezoelectric material, such as lead zirconate titanate (PZT), coupled to a power circuitry. Each of the one or more beams can also have a predetermined resonance frequency that is within the dominant frequency range of the human voice. The power circuitry can be adapted to receive the electrical charge received by the one or more piezoelectric beams and to convert the electrical charge into an electric current. The power circuitry can also be coupled to a battery for the storage of the converted energy, which in turn can provide power to implantable medical electronic devices (e.g., neurostimulators or cochlear implants) and/or wearable electronics.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing fatty acid alkyl ester for bio-diesel fuels by reacting a raw material containing fat with water to prepare fatty acid, and then reacting the prepared fatty acid with alcohol. The method for preparing fatty acid alkyl ester for bio-diesel fuels includes the steps of: preparing fatty acid and glycerin by an hydrolysis reaction of a raw material containing fat and water at the temperature of 200 to 280° C. and the pressure of 30 to 80 bar; carrying out a phase separation of the fatty acid and the glycerin; and carrying out an esterification reaction of the separated fatty acid and alcohol at the temperature of 200 to 350° C. and the pressure of atmospheric pressure to 35 bar.

Here the raw material of the fatty acid is fed to an upper part of the counter current column reactor and the alcohol is fed to a lower part of the counter current column reactor. The counter current column reactor has a number of trays which are installed horizontally to have a number of vertical compartments. Each of the number of trays has an opening part at one end thereof to communicate one compartment with an adjoining compartment.

Preferably, the esterification reaction is carried out at the temperature of 200 to 350° C. and the pressure of atmospheric pressure to 10 bar, and the metal catalyst is a compound containing metal selected from the group consisting of cobalt, iron, manganese, zinc, titanium and mixture thereof.
