  • Publication number: 20200138337
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present technology present a structural foundation for respiratory analysis of turbulent exhale flows through a technique called Thin Medium Thermal Imaging (TMTI). TMTI is a respiration monitoring method that uses a thin medium and thermal imaging to sense breathing activity. This technique is presented as an alternative to existing non-contact methods of respiratory analysis. As with all non-contact methods, remote monitoring of patients' respiratory behaviors preserves patient comfort. However, unlike other respiratory monitoring methods, the TMTI method monitors respiration directly, and can therefore provide more respiratory information than other non-contact methods. Various embodiments may make use of different medium materials, different measurement setups, additional thermal imaging cameras and sensors, and setups with entertainment media such as Virtual Reality (VR).

  • Patent number: 10566604
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing an electrode assembly for an electrochemical device. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a curved electrode assembly having a curve with a uniform curvature radius. According to the present disclosure, as the curved electrode assembly is manufactured by stacking a plurality of curved unit cells having a uniform curvature radius, restoration to the original shape is low and shape stability is high as compared to an electrode assembly manufactured by bending a flat electrode assembly. In addition, as unit cells included in an electrode assembly are produced to have a curve by a roll lamination process under a uniform condition and they have the same curvature radius or a small difference in curvature radius, it is possible to easily manufacture an electrode assembly having a desired curvature radius without excessive deformation of the unit cells.

  • Publication number: 20190344237
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to microparticles and, in particular, to systems and methods for encapsulation within microparticles. In one aspect, the present invention is generally directed to microparticles containing entities therein, where the entities contain an agent that can be released from the microparticles, e.g., via diffusion. In some cases, the agent may be released from the microparticles without disruption of the microparticles. The entities may be, for instance, polymeric particles, hydrogel particles, droplets of fluid, etc. The entities may be contained within a fluid that is, in turn, encapsulated within the microparticle. The agent may be released from the entity into the fluid, and then from the fluid through the microparticle. In such fashion, the release of agent from the microparticle may be controlled, e.g., over relatively long time scales.
